10/6-10/10- YMCA water safety course (Cruitt, Johnson, and Postell's math classes)
10/13-10/17- YMCA water safety course (Cunningham and Turner's math classes)

This week Ms. Cruitt's, Mrs. Postell's and Ms. Johnson's math classes will be going to the YMCA if your child is not in one of these classes he/she will stay in their math class and complete fall activities.


   Reading
This week we are reading “Ronald Morgan Goes to Bat.”  Your child should study the spelling and vocabulary words that go with this story.  Our story test will be on Thursday.  I have attached a sheet with your child’s grade under the behavior sheet in their Tuesday Folder.  Please be sure to sign this sheet after viewing your child’s grade.  Their answer sheet for the test is also in the folder.  Spelling and Vocabulary tests will be on Friday.  This week we will be learning about contractions.  We will also talk about realism and fantasy.  Please remember homework is sent home on Tuesdays and due by Friday.   Your child should complete days 1-5 from the Family Times worksheet.  Day 4 has been marked out and does not have to be completed.  Homework should be completed on notebook paper.  It can be completed on one sheet or multiple pages.  If the assignment is oral (reading a story, etc.) you should sign or initial for that day, so I will know that it has been completed. Homework is NOT optional.  It will be counted as a grade!

Math
This week we will be going to swim lessons at the YMCA each day.  We leave the school after lunch and return around 2:30.  Make sure your child brings their swim suit and towel each day.  Continue to work on addition, subtraction, and counting money at home.  Homework is in the Tuesday Folder.  Please have your complete the front page and return it by Friday.
