Social Studies- none
Science_- We will continue working on AMSTI activities this week. Your child will not need to take his/her book home this week for science. Have a great week. Remember Parents/Teacher Report Card Conference is next Monday, September 29th. First and second graders do not receive letter grades in science or social studies now. Math Class, September 23-30, 2008
Math- We will be working on chapter 27 Numbers to 1,000 and chapter 7 Exploring 2- Digit Addition. The chapter 27 is very short. Please read and review the Parent Involvement letter on chapter 27 by Thursday. I am sending the Involvement letters for chapter 27 and 7. We began last week practicing Two Digit Numbers in class on the board. Have a great week. I recorded your child’s Math Star test and your child math grade for the 1st six weeks in my class. Remember Parent/Teacher Report Card conference begins at 12:00- 7:00. I hope this information is helpful. Have a great week!

Literacy Class- September 23-30, 2008
Spelling- Your child will not have a spelling test this week. This week is review week. I am sending a new spelling list home. Have your child practice learning his new spelling words for next week” Tara and Tiree, Fealess Friend”.
Language- This is review week. Next Monday, we will be learning about Nouns.
Reading- We are reviewing for our Unit Test this week. The reading test was today and tomorrow. The test consists of skills, vocabulary words and grammar learned over the last five weeks. Next week, we will be reading”Tara and Tiree, Fealess Friend. You can read the story this week with your child. September 29, is Parent/Teacher Report Card Conference Day. I would love to see all of you but if you can not make it that day you can make an appointment or have a telephone conference. I hope this information is helpful. Have a great week.
