Literacy Class 8:05 – 11:30
Reading – We are diligently working on one story a week. We read our story in class; however, it is very important that you read with your child every night. Every Tuesday, you will find a Family Times Sheet in their folder. This sheet coincides with our story and contains the following information: tested vocabulary words, English skill and Reading skill for the week.
Spelling – The students receive two lists at the beginning of each six weeks. One list is to keep at home, and the other is to keep in their binder. My Reading Class is responsible for writing their spelling words 5 times each every week. This assignment is due every Friday.
English is completed in class every day.
*We have a Reading Test every Thursday.
*We have a Spelling Test every Friday.

*Multiplication
*Division
*Addition
*Subtraction
I have decided to make the month of November “Multiplication and Division” Month. I need you drilling at home and I will be drilling here at school. Quizzes will be given each week. The top 10 students will receive a prize at the end of the month. Please practice with your child every night.

Science/AL History 1:30 – 3:00
Because of our new AMSTI program, we have decided to change our schedule for Science and AL History. We are currently doing 3 weeks of Science and 3 weeks of History. Your child has spent the last three weeks with their homeroom teacher; as a result, starting Monday, they will go to their paired teacher.

Discipline: Discipline has improved, but we still have areas we need to focus on. Please remind your child that talking during instructional time and in red zones is not permitted. Discipline actions are being taken at school for anyone who continues to break the rules.
