Early Childhood Services and Education (ECSE) provide training in the area of childcare and development. The first year is designed as an introduction to the childcare profession focusing on child development, guidance and behavior, health and safety, and age appropriate activities.
The second year is primarily to provide advanced competencies related to professional childcare skills, safe and healthy environments, program planning, and management.
                      
Units for ECSE I and II:
    I - Orientation and Safety, Protecting Children's Health and Safety, Guidance and Behavior Management, Stages of Child Development, and Practicing Age-Appropriate Activities
  
    II - The Childcare Professional, Planning the Learning Environment, Program Management, and Creating a Safe Childcare Facility
