NOTICE: ALL LABS FEES are due by Friday, August 31.  Lab Fees are $10.00.  

A few "housekeeping chores"
1) Supplies:
   3-ring binder
   Loose leaf notebook paper
   pencil and pen
2) Grading Policy:
    Major grades (Tests, Projects, Labs)=65%
    Daily grades (Classwork, homework)  =35%
3) Lab Fees: $10.00 due by Friday, August 31.  If this deadline creates a hardship, please contact me and we can determine a different deadline.

Week of October 1-5

B-Day: Tuesday, 2 October

1) Finish going over Chapter 23 test
2) Review topics for First Term Test
3) Group work on Review sheet for test
HOMEWORK: STUDY for First Term Test

B-Day: Thursday, 4 October

1) Answer questions from review sheet
2) First Term Test
3) Get information sheets on Genetic Disorders Presentations
4) Sign up for a disorder
HOMEWORK: Research material for genetic disorders presentation

Oral and Written Presentation should include:
1) Mode of Transmission (Pattern of Transmission: i.e., autosomal dominant, X-linked recessive extra chromosome, etc.)
   If chromosomal, which chromosome is involved?
   If genic, single gene on which chromosome?
   If multigenic, which chromosomes?

2) General Characteristics
3) Symptoms
4) Age of Onset
5) Treatments (If any)
6) Effects on Lifestyle
7) Life Expectancy
8) Who is most affected (i.e., males more than females, Jewish ethnicity, Eskimos, equal opportunity disorder, etc.)
9) Statistics
10)Other interesting information about the disorder
11)Visual: Can include picture of someone with disorder, chart for mode of transmission, statistics, etc.
