Thursday: August 7, 2008
Filled out information sheets. They have a workbook fee of $15 that they may pay me on Monday.

CW/HW: Run-off pg.8-9 (13-43 all) The student is to copy the problem down.  The only thing that they do not have to copy down are the word problems like #23.
If they give me just the answer, I am going to give them just a ZERO.

Monday: August 11, 2008
CW: Run-off 1-1 (Skills Practice) (1-8 all;  10-26 even)
HW: Run-off page 13-14 (14-30 even; 32,33, 34-40 even; 41-45 all)
They are to show the work on these problems, I WILL NOT ACCEPT JUST THE ANSWER.  I cannot see work that they do in their head.

CW: Run-off 1-2 (Skills Practice) Even only; Show your work. I will not accept just the answer.
    Run-off 1-1 (Practice) 1-8 all; 10-16 even; 18-27 all.  The students are doing this run-off because some of the students need extra practice on how to write and algebraic expression.
HW: Run-off pg. 18-19 (14-32 even; 33; 34-38 even; 39, 46, 47) The students are to copy down the problems and show all of the work, even though they may know the answer to the problem.  I WILL NOT ACCEPT JUST THE ANSWER.

Friday: August 15, 2008

CW: Run-off 1-3 (Skills Practice) Even only; They are to show ALL work and they need to work the problems on another sheet of paper.
HW: Run-off page 23-24 (8-17 all; 18-24 even; 27-31 odd; 32-34 all) They are to work the problems like we worked the examples in class.  We took a quiz today of the first sections of Chapter 1.  After the quiz, the students were to start on their class work.  They had plenty of time in class to work on their class work.

Tuesday: August 19, 2008
CW: Run-off 1-4 (Skills Practice) Even only.  They are to show work when they have to evaluate the problem and they also have to name the property that illustrates the step they just worked.
HW: Run-off sheet that I typed up (1-24 all)  They may work the problems on the sheet of paper.  I also told them that they could omit one step when they are to rewrite each expression using the Distributive Property.

HW: Run-off pg. 36-37 (12-22 even; 22-40 all) They are to show the properties on the even on these problems ONLY (12, 14, 18, 20).  The student will need to show ALL WORK when they are using the distributive property or when the problem has parentheses.  I WILL NOT ACCEPT JUST THE ANSWER UNDER ANY CIRMCUMSTANCES.

We took a Test today on the Vocabulary words and some of the students did not study. We have a test Friday on problems from Chapter 1.

CW: Run-off page 24 (1-18) They are to work these problems on another sheet of paper.
HW: Run-off page 65 (practice Test) [1-12] They are to work these problems on another sheet of paper and we will go over these problems before they take their test.  



Friday: August 29, 2008
HW: Run-off 1-7 (Lesson Reading Guide) They are to do this run-off and they are also have to define the following vocabulary words:
1.) conditional statements
2.) if-then statements
3.) hypothesis
4.) conclusion
5.) deductive reasoning
6.) counter example

Wednesday: September 3, 2008
CW/HW - Run-off page 42-43 (15-38 all) They are to write the answers on another sheet of paper and not write on the run-off.

HW: Run-off page 57-58 (10-19; 22-25 all) They are to works the problems on another sheet of paper.  IF THEY DO NOT THEY WILL RECEIVE A ZERO BECAUSE THEY DID NOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS.  They are also to graph the function on graph paper and not notebook paper.

We worked together in class today to review for their test on Monday.  We worked the entire class period after we went over their homework.  I told them to work the problems on the white board and them let me see their answer to make sure that they worked the problem correctly, then they could put the correct answer on there paper.  I also told them whatever problems we did not work in class was for homework.  We did most of the problems in class together.  



Monday: September 15, 2008
We took a test today on Chapter 1 all of Chapter 1.  After the test they were given a sheet to do for homework.

HW: Homework sheet (1-10) They are to do this for homework.

CW/HW: Run-off page 82 [27-30 all] DO NOT SOLVE.  JUST MAKE AN EQUATION
       Run-off page 89 [34-37 ALL] DO NOT SOLVE.  JUST MAKE AN EQUATION.  
       Run-off page 95 [12-22 even] SOLVE ALL THE PROBLEMS.  SHOW ALL WORK.  NO CREDIT FOR JUST THE ANSWER.

Friday: September 19, 2008
CW: Run-off 2-4 [Skills Practice] (1-3 all; 5-21 odd; 23-26 all) The students are to work problems 5-21 odd and 23-26 all on another sheet of paper.
HW: Run-off page 101-102 [11-23 odd; 25-28 all; 31, 33, 38, and 40] I WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRMCUMSTANCES ACCEPT JUST THE ANSWER.

The students are to work ALL of the problems on another sheet of paper.  I WILL NOT ACCEPT JUST THE ANSWER WITHOUT ANY WORK SHOWN, YOU WILL RECEIVE A ZERO IF YOU DO NOT SHOW WORK.  



Geometry

Friday: August 8, 2008
Filled out information sheets.  I issued the geometry students their text books and these textbooks are new and very very expensive.  The students needs to take very good care of these books.

CW/HW: page 9-10 (10-34 all)  The students had time in class to start on this assignment.  If they did not finish this assignment in class, they are to finish it for homework.  

Tuesday: August 12, 2008
CW: Run-off 1-1 (Practice) Some of the students had a practice run-off and some of the students had a skills practice run-off and I told them to work the run-off they got.  
HW: pg: 17-18 (12-15; 22-27 all; 28-40 even) The students are to show work on the problems that require work to be shown.
    pg. 26-27 (11-16all; 18-44 even) The students are to show work and not use the formulas on the graphing calculator.  I WILL NOT ACCEPT JUST THE ANSWER.

Thursday: August 14, 2008

CW: Run-off 1-2 (Skills Practice) 6-14 all Some of the students may have a different run-off and they are just to start at number 6 and finish the rest of the worksheet.
    Run-off 1-3 (Skills Practice) (1-4 all; 6-12 even; 13-21 all) They will need to work some of these problems on another sheet of paper.  I told the students that if I could not read their work, I was counting the problem wrong.
HW: page 36-37 (9-37 all) The last part of their homework will require them to show me work.  I will not accept just the answers, showing me the work proves to me that they understand what they are doing.

Monday: August 18, 2008
HW: page 45-46 (8-32 all) They were supposed to have a quiz, but I messed up when I ran off the quiz.  The students are to show all work when they are solving the word problems.

Wednesday: August 20, 2008
We took a quiz today on the first three sections of Chapter 1 and some of the students had NO CLUE what to do because they have not looked over their vocabulary words and they need to study every night.
HW/CW: Run-off 1-4 (Skills Practice) ALL - The student will need a protractor to find the measure of an angle on problems (13-16).  I have a protractor that the student my use to do those problems.
       Run-off 1-5 (Skills Practice) 1-10 only - The student will also need a protractor on this page for problems (1-6).  If the student does not have enough room to work the problems out on the run-off, then they may work the problems on another sheet of paper.

*********Test on Tuesday September 2, 2008 on Vocabulary in Chapter 1! Test on Thursday September 4, 2008 on Chapter 1 on all the different types of problems in Chapter 1.*********************************

Friday: August 22, 2008
We took a quiz on section 4 and 5 from Chapter 1.  I told the students today that they are not studying the problems that THEY should be correcting after we go over them in class.  I told the students that they should study every night and look over the notes and homework that we did that day. The students are not asking for help if they do not understand how to work the problem out.  
CW and HW: page 54-56 (7-17 all; 20, 22; 25-39 all) The students are to show ALL work when they are finding area, circumerference, or perimeter.  I will not accept just the answers.

CW: Run-off 1-6 (Skills Practice) Show work on problems when finding perimeter and area and expecially number 10.
HW: page 64 (6-11 all)

HW: Run-off 3-1 (Practice)
    Run-off 3-4 (Practice)

I worked a lot some of the problems from each of these worksheets in class.  I used this as a review and I also tried to explain it again before they take their first test.  What ever problems that I did not finish in class is for homework.  I am also going to grade each one of these sheets for a correct grade.

Tuesday: September 2, 2008
We took a vocabulary test today on the first five sections in Chapter 1.  They will have a test on Thursday on problems from the first five sections in Chapter 1.  
CW: page 68-71 (1-7; 9-13; 15; 17-20; 22-24; 26-28) we did these problems in class as a review.  If they did not work the problems with me, then this is also their homework assignment.
HW: page 73 (1-17 all)

We took a test today on Chapter 1 (Section 1 thru Section 5).  This is their homework assignment, and they may also have to read their math book to answer the questions on the Run-offs.

The Vocabulary Quiz will be on Sections 6 and Sections 7 of Chapter 1.  The students are also responsible for know the polygons for 3-12 sides.

HW: page 95-96 [12-24 even; 27-36 all 38-42 even]
They are to write everything down, I will not accept just true or false.  The student has more to do than just writing down true or false.  The only problems that had just true or false as an answer were problems [27-36] all.

Tuesday: September 16, 2008

HW: page 102-103 [9-12; 17-24 all] We did some of these in class today.  We did not take a vocabulary test today, we will take it on Thursday.

CW: Run-off 2-5 (Study Guide and Intervention)
HW: page 108 [8-15; 17-20 all] When they are doing their homework, they MUST WRITE DOWN THE POSTULATE when the directions ask what postulate proves the statement.  If they do not, they will receive a zero for homework because they did not follow directions.
