Teacher Message:
Hello Parents!
We hope you enjoyed your weekend. This Friday we will have our 20 word spelling test. This test will be on words previously learned. Wednesday we will have the Ridgeland Fire Department here for Fire Safety week! Report cards will go home this Thursday. Remember that you will see “L” – Learning in progress instead of letter grades or numbers. Your child’s reading level will also be listed. If you would like to set up a conference, just send a note in your child’s homework folder. We want every student on F/G by Christmas and I/J at the end of the year! We are in need of erasers for our pencils. Our erasers are “disappearing” at a fast rate! Thank you for all that you do!

Word Wall Words: Review of all word wall words
Comprehension: Predicting
Phonics: short a & I &o (review); initial blends cl and cr
Grammar: Word order in sentences
Handwriting: Letters and numbers
Math: Covering a design in different ways & adding zero; counting by 10s to 100, and subtracting 1
Extra Practice (ideas for home): Math facts; addition/subtraction flashcards; sentence dictation; label your child’s room (for example, bed, wall, light switch, window), formation of letters (use shaving cream!)

• 10/23/08 – Pumpkin Patch Field Trip to the Ag. Museum – please turn in your money and permission slips asap!
