Dear Parents,
Reading- We are going to continue vowel blends, -ee,-ea, -ai,-ay. We are also moving into story sequencing within our independent writing. I have introduced key words to start sentences. These key words identify where the reader is within the story. For ex: First, In the beginning, next, then, finally, at last, etc.
Math- In math, we are going to continue to work on Saxon. I am adding a center on measuring. We will be working on length, weight, and volume. I am expanding my unit on measurement for another week. The class has had alot of fun working with this. Please continue to practice math facts.
Word Wall Words:- Our WWW words for this week are:good, put, your, how, now.
Reminders and important events- Our Thanksgiving play is coming up soon. Please remember that parents are responsible for costumes. Costumes are due to the school by Nov. 14th. The play will be conducted on the 19th for the school and on the 20th for parents. The play starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. Order forms for videos will be sent home before the play. We have someone that comes in to videotape the play for the school.
Also, we will be starting practice Weds. morning. Please make sure that your children have had breakfast that morning. We are on stage for a long time. They will be missing their snack time due to play practice.
I would also like to let my parents know that my class is on the right side of the stage. Prepare to arrive early and sit to the left or in the middle, in order to have the best view of the class.
