Weeks of 5/5-5/16
English 9:
We will be working from our English 10 Practice Exercises, which will help to prepare them for their upcoming year and test. Their end-of-the-year test will be on their writing and editing skills.
English 11:
We are creatively writing from Thurber's "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." They will be writing "The Secret Life of Mrs. Mitty." They will take their unit test and then watch the 1947 version of the story with actor Danny Kaye. It is really quite funny. My hope is that they will take all of the lessons learned from the literature read in our class this year and use it to become better people who'll make a positive change in the world.
English AP11:
We are working on persuasive essays--due Friday. Then we'll begin our last unit of literature. It's the same unit the regular class Juniors are finishing right now. It contains some of my favorite stories. I will give them a syllabus explaining the activities in this unit.
