Week of Nov. 9, 2009
MONDAY- Pass back and go over the test from Friday. Play fraction, decimal and percent war game to conclude this unit & review concepts. No homework.
TUESDAY- NO SCHOOL- Parent Teacher Conferences
WEDNESDAY- NO SCHOOL- Veterans Day
THURSDAY- Students will learn to find specific percents of a number using real world examples. Percent questions are homework tonight.
FRIDAY- Students will complete the Percent of a number activity. No homework.
Week of Nov. 2, 2009
MONDAY- Discuss how to convert fractions to decimals. Also teach students how to change mixed numbers to decimals. Homework- Handout 5.8
TUESDAY- Teach students how to write fractions as percents and decimals as percents. Homework- Worksheet 52 & 53
WEDNESDAY- Use Marcy Cook tiles on decimals, percents and fractions to reinforce concepts. Students will work with a partner to complete worksheet 48 & 50 about writing percents as decimals & fractions. Homework- Worksheet 48 & 50 (if not finished)
THURSDAY- Play Who Wants to be a Millionaire to review and help prepare for tomorrow's test over fractions, decimals and percents. Homework- Worksheet page 51 (front only)
FRIDAY- Today we will have a test over equivalent fractions, ordering fractions, improper fractions and mixed numbers, and converting decimals, fractions and percents. Homework- None
