This year I will be teaching Reading,English, and Science.
Reading- For the first quarter of the year we will be working on the elements of reading; main idea, sequencing, inferences, conclusion, facts and details, and context clues. These are all skills that help students comprehend what they are learning. We will be reading short stories to learn these skills and practice
English- First and Second quarter of the year will be parts of speech, grammar elements, and short writing assignments. Everyday each student will come in and keep a journal with a Daily Edit assignment and a Journal Prompt. Third and Fourth quarter will be conducted with a concentrations on writing. Using the writing process to write a narrative, descriptive, expository and research essay. I will also be teaching the students on ways to write their short and extended responses for all content areas for the Ohio Achievement Test.
Science- We will be working with Earth and Life Sciences. We will also be conducting a recycling program throughout the school. Every Friday the students will collect recycling bins from each classroom and dispose of the items in the recycling trash bins outside of the school building.
