*On Friday, June 6, we will celebrate the end of a great first year with a trip to Cedar point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. We will leave AECHS at 8:00 a.m. and return at approximately 11:00 p.m. The $10.00 price includes transportation on chartered busses, admission to the park and a pizza buffet lunch.
*Don't miss the 2008-09 AECHS school calendar. It is posted on our main page. A quick google search for the Akron Early College High School will get you there. Or, find us through the APS "Schools by Name" link. The easiest way to get to our School Notes pages is from our main page as well.
*The spring semester exam schedule is also posted on our main web page. Exams for university classes will be held the week of May 5. High school exams will be administered the week of May 19.
*Congratulations to the 105 member AECHS Class of 2012! It's easy to see why we feel so postive about the future direction of our school by looking at the accomplishments and abilities of our newest members. We can't wait to get to know you. With almost 350 applications submitted, it was exceptionally difficult to make the final selection of students. Good luck to all applicants as you begin your high school education.
*Students and Parents: I highly encourage you to sign up for the free emergency alert text message service offered by the University. Students, check your email for intructions about how to sign up. And while we're at it, remember to check your University of Akron email account at least three times per week. Many important announcements are communicated this way.
*May 23rd is a scheduled day off for Akron Early College High School. HOWEVER, those students enrolled in the university computer course must attend that class from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Otherwise, there will be no school on May 23rd.
*Also on May 23rd students are invited to the University Rec Center from 11:30 to 3:00.
*The faculty and staff of AECHS is pleased to announce the Induction Ceremony for the Class of 2012 will be held on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. Look for an invitation coming soon in the mail.
