The State Department of Education mandated that every senior graduating from a public high school in the state of Ohio should complete a Career Passport.
In order to assist our students in creating a meaningful Career Passports, a website has been developed to assist teachers in teaching the Career Passport documents, and students in creating the Career Passport documents. The link can be found below. Go to apscareers.com Then click on the "Information and Forms" link. Then scroll down to "Career Passport." A Power Point presentation is available on each of the documents, and an overview of how the Career Passport Portfolio is to be used.
At Ellet High School, we divide out the various documents throughout the four years of high school. Students then update and finalize their documents in their senior year and pack them into an Akron Public School provided portfolio binder.
Students can use the various documents when applying for part time jobs, college applications, scholarship applications, various award applications, and of course, when applying for that "real world job." Students should continue to update these documents throughout their lives and use them whenever applying for job changes, promotions, awards, etc.
