***Right To Read Week Wrap-Up... Book Sale to raise money for the Student Council Scholarship Fund will take place this week.

*** 3rd Quarter ends Friday, 3/19.

Math:  This week we will be finishing Chapter 7.  We will be covering Fractions and Decimals and reviewing the chapter.  The Chapter 7 Test is planned for Thursday, 3/18.  It will be the last Math grade for the quarter. Please encourage your child to prepare for the test by practicing problems at home as well.  We will start Chapter 8 on Friday.  We will be Adding and Subtracting with Like Denominators. The 7th Accelerated Math assignment was due by last Friday.  There are still some students that are behind.  I am still accepting assignments this week.  All Accelerated Math assignments for the quarter must be turned in by Friday, or they will be averaged in as zeros. This is the last assignment due for the quarter.  Any additional assignments will be counted as extra credit.

Science: We will review Motion and Forces, and cover Newton's Laws of Motion, and Simple Machines.  We still need to work more on Speed, Force, Work and Power.

Social Studies:  We are continuing in Chapter 7-- Ancient Greece.  The classes are now arranged in 3 city-states, Sparta, Athens, and Corinth. Each city-state will begin working together to create their own Banner to represent them at the Olympic Games. (we ran out of time last Friday).  On Tuesday, we will begin our Olympic Games and finish with a closing ceremony on Thursday.  If the Olympics go as planned, we will learn about Greek Myths on Friday and start writing our own.

***Check your child's planner daily to see what we have been doing.  Also ask to see your child's graded work daily.
