                WELCOME TO GRADE 6

                Week of 8/25-8/29

                  Tuesday

The most important part of Day 1 is to bring $3 for a planner so you can be successful at the start.

ALL SIXTH GRADERS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THEIR PLANNER EACH DAY. THIS ALLOWS TEACHERS TO NOTE WHEN WORK IS NOT COMPLETED OR BEHAVIOR IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. DEMERITS ARE ISSUED FOR MISSING ASSIGNMENTS AND THOSE NOT IN THE PLANNER. USE THIS WEB SITE TO CHECK THAT THEY HAVE COMPLETED THE PLANNER CORRECTLY.

ALL SIXTH GRADERS ARE REQUIRED TO WORK ON HOMEWORK AT LEAST ONE HOUR EVERY WEEK NIGHT. STUDENTS FAILING TO DO THIS CAN NOT KEEP UP WITH THE CURRICULUM IN SCHOOL
(BOOK REPORTS, UNIT PROJECTS, REPORTS FOR CLASS, QUIZ, TEST......). PLEASE ASK TO SEE THE WORK. WE DO NOT COLLECT HOMEWORK AHEAD OF TIME.

Second, be sure to have your emergency medical form filled out by the second day of school, otherwise you can't have an emergency until it is completed.

Please go over the handbook with your children and sign it because the discipline system with demerits start on Day 1.

All books need to be covered to take them home each night due to the high price of texts and the number of new ones. New texts cost $50 or more.

The new reading book and science book have on online version so the sudent can access the text without carrying the heavy new book. I will put their user name and password ( in that order) in their planner as soon as all have planners. I put the web site on the link above and all you need to do is click on the link and it takes you directly to the website.

We will practice this when we have computers. Until then let me know if you need help or use the tech support on  the website.

Sixth graders are doing the PALS program this year with the kindergarten students on Wednesday to take them to church each week.

The math book has an online help system but not an online book, which you can use by clicking on the link above.
