Grades 3-8 have now finished their unit on Soccer and many of them showed great improvement in skills and knowledge of the game. Some of them, unfortunately, did not put forth much effort or show the ability that they have. This may show up on their interim report and be a wake-up call to get with it for the rest of the quarter.
Grades K-2 have finished kicking skills and have moved on to eye-hand coordination as in throwing and catching. We will be using beanbags, balls of all kinds, and frisbees. We also talk about underhand and overhand throwing.
Students in Grades 4-8 will be moving next week and recording the number of steps they make with the aid of pedometers. A class set was purchased and every child will get to see how much or how little he/she moves during a class period. I hope this will motivate them to work harder to give me the best they can.
Enjoy the weekend and get out and exercise with the kids.
