Dear Parents and Students,
Please make sure to check your child's homework folder every night and look through the Monday homework packet each Monday. There may be more information sent in the Monday packet than I will probably put in the School Notes. This site will just contain the daily M-Th homework assignments. Check the regular homework packet for all other important notes, information and communications. There are flash cards on this site and they can be used to help your child review the weekly vocabulary words. Just click on the flashcards and each word will come up. This is just another way your child may use to practice our sight words. Thanks for all your help from home and with helping your child learn good work habits. Have a great year in 2007! As always send a note if you have any questions or concerns.

Homework for the Week of April 7-11
MONDAY--Practice new vocabulary words and spelling words. Read your book baggie . Work on fluency. Make sure you read a little every night.
TUESDAY--Write at least 5 sentences using some of your new words. Try to use some adjectives (describing words). Print neatly.
WEDNESDAY--Math worksheet~Practice addition and subtraction facts so they become automatic. Practice counting out the value of a group of coins.
THURSDAY--Read "Frog and Toad All Year" to your family. Have a practice spelling test. Pack up library books.

~Wednesday is Spirit Day. Wear a spirit shirt.
**Religion-We pray with God's word. Tell and act out several Gospel stories. How and where do we pray?
***Math--assess skills and concepts (greater/less than, place value, number order, expanded form); beginning to learn about money, tell names and values of coins, add values of a group of coins. Practice this at home with real coins.
***Reading-r-blends, l-blends; fous on long a patterns of ay and ai; intro verbs, develop comprehension through cause and effect; rereading as a strategy, fluency; find details ina story.
**Science/Social Studies, Health--animal groups (birds, reptiles; life long ago~~dinosaurs. Write dinosaur reports.
