E.     Commencement Exercises
NOTE TO PARENTS:  We would appreciate your cooperation by not standing in the aisles to take pictures of your son or daughter at any time during the ceremony.  If the need arises to exit the ceremony to keep from disturbing others (coughing, crying children, etc.), please note the ceremony will be broadcast on the televisions in the auditeria. The doors to the gymnasium will be closed at 1:55. Please refrain from entering after this time. Please silence all cell phones during the ceremony.
Students must park in student parking.
Seating For Commencement
Seating for Commencement will be unlimited bleacher seats and limited chairs on the floor.  At this time, each senior is to receive two chair tickets but may have unlimited guests seated in the bleachers. The number of graduates and space will determine if graduates receive more or fewer chair tickets. If handicapped seating is needed, please use your floor tickets or the recessed seating on the bottom of the bleacher seats. The tickets will be distributed at graduation practice.
Dress for Commencement
Piercings must follow school dress code. National Honor Society stoles are ordered through the National Honor Society Sponsor ahead of time. Lightweight clothing is encouraged for the Commencement Exercises.
GIRLS:  White dress shoes, light dresses, or blouse and skirt, NO slacks or flip flops. Dresses must meet school dress code requirements.  You will be wearing a traditional mortar board with tassel so you will need to style your hair accordingly.  Please avoid heavy make-up.
BOYS:  You need to wear dark trousers (no jeans), dark socks, dark dress shoes (no sneakers), a white dress shirt and tie. NO OPEN COLLAR SHIRTS ARE PERMITTED.  It will be much cooler without your suit coat under the gown.
If there is a financial problem concerning Commencement dress requirements, please contact Mr. Rise personally by May 19.  The dress requirement is intended to enhance Commencement, not to exclude people.  We will be more than happy to make arrangements for anyone needing financial assistance and will do so confidentially.

Senior Dates
There are two mandatory senior meetings during the school year held in September and April and one optional meeting in January. Pay special attention to these dates; all students including campus, PSEO, and Oaks students are required to attend mandatory meetings.  Seniors are welcome to attend the SADD prom assembly the Friday of prom and pep rallies held for Football Homecoming and Basketball Homecoming.  Remember campus dress codes apply.
Senior information is shared here, on announcements at all campuses, on the school’s web page (www.blanchester.k12.oh.us under District Information/ Senior Webpage) and on the phone system (Senior Information voice mail.)  We do everything possible to keep you informed but you are responsible for getting the information from the web page every Monday.
The senior class composite picture is sold by Fugett Photography. Since Fugett Photography is our official school photographer, the senior picture for the yearbook and the composite ONLY must be taken through Fugett.  This is to ensure all deadlines and picture criteria are met. If students decide to have senior portraits taken at another studio (their choice to do so), Fugett will visit the high school in November or December in the auditeria to take a $5.00 photograph for the yearbook and composite. Fugett Photography can be reached at 513.877.2287.
