I finished grading your exam from chapter 6, some of you needed to study more. I will be returning them today and give you an opportunity to make corrections for some extra points. Your exams must be signed by a parent or guardian and returned tomorrow.
Make sure you notebook is complete, you will be turning them in to me on Thursday. Progress reports go out on Monday May 5, 2008.
We will continue with chapter 7 this week and next week. Seniors should begin prepareing for final exmas.

La bienvenue à avril et moi espèrent printemps ! Nous sommes en chapitre 6. Aucune classe le vendredi en tant qu'il n'y a demi de jour et les étudiants auront des classes de matin. Veuillez être prêt à tourner dans des vos cahiers demain (jeudi). Soyez sûr d'avoir votre scripture de la semaine, des mots du jour, et de votre travail dans le cahier de travail complet.
La semaine prochaine est notre voyage de champ que les glissades de permission de "The French Laundry" doivent avoir lieu dans le demain. Le menu DOIT être retourné par lundi. Welcome to April and I hope to Spring! We are in chapter 6. No class on Friday as there is a half day and students will have morning classes. Please be ready to turn in your notebooks tomorrow (Thursday). Be sure to have your scripture of the week, words of the day, and your homework in the workbook complete.
Next week is our field trip to "The French Laundry" Permission slips must be in tomorrow. Menu's MUST be returned by Monday.
Students should have between $15 and $20, make sure to include tax and gratuity. Parents are still welcome to join us at the cafe.
We will finsh chapter 6 next week. Continue to study for your chapter exam which will be Monday April 14. Grades will come out next week.

Parents--I will send new progress reports after exams as this will be a truer representation as to where your child stands in class. Later this month I hope to take the students on a fieldtrip to a "french cafe" in Fenton. I would like it to warm up a bit so we can eat outside. I'll get you more details soon as we will need parent chaperones. Any opportunity you can take to encourage your students to listen to French speaking will be a great help to them. Watching family movies in French with English subtitles or listening to a webcast of French radio would be great. They may not understand everything but they will hear the langauge being spoken by native speakers.

C'a été un peu de moment. Nous sommes au milieu du chapitre 4, se renseignant sur des familles, et au nouveau verbe poids du commerce (pour avoir), et employer des adjectifs possessifs. Je compte remplir ce chapitre et prendre à l'examen de chapitre le vendredi le 16ème. Nous passerons la semaine dernière avant que coupure de Noël étudiant Noël en France. Aucun travail ce soir !

It has been a little while. We are in the midst of Chapter 4, learning about families, and the new verb avoir (to have), and using possessive adjectives.
I expect to complete this chapter and take the chapter exam on Friday the 16th. We will spend the last week before Christmas break studying Christmas in France.

Bienvenue a la classe francais! (Welcome to French class)
We are off to a great start with triple the number of students from last year. The class as a whole is very enthusiastic about learning French. I hear them in the halls and some of them contact me via IM or email and use the French they have learned thus far.
Today we had a quiz on numbers and they did pretty well. By the end of this week we will be into chapter one. They have workbooks this year and will have assignments nearly everyday. Parents, you can help by asking to see their workbooks to make sure they are working steadily on their assignments. Encourage your children to watch some of your favorite family movies in French with English subtitles-if you have the langauge option. The more they can hear French spoken the better they will comprehend.
