Bible - We will learn about Abraham and Sodom and Gomorrah. Our memory verse will be: James 1:19 - Be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.
Phonics - Keep having your child read to you at home! We are continuing with our reading groups and will begin learning about long vowels and special sounds soon.
Math - We will continue to learn about money this week.
Social Studies - This week we will learn about Washington D.C. and Abraham Lincoln.
Science - This week we'll continue learning about seeds.

Reminders
1. This Friday, Jan. 16th there will be a home basketball game at ACA. Before the game there will be a spaghetti supper served, and during halftime the first-graders will have a scrimmage game. See the flyer that was sent home for more information.
2. Remember to send your child with hat, gloves, and snow clothes each day. We go out often and want all children to be appropriately clothed.
3. Look for the new snack calendar to come in your child's folder some time this week. Remember to bring snacks for 22 students on your assigned day. Snacks must be store-bought.
4. Report cards will be sent home next week. Be sure to sign your child's report card and return it by Monday, January 19.
