The first semester has come and gone and we are now in the middle of the 3rd quarter. We are now studying the first 14 Presidents, their policies and politics. We have already studied Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison. We have looked at the Birth of the Navy, the Barbary Coast war, the Louisiana Purchase, Lewis and Clarks exploration and the war of 1812.We will soon be into Monroe, the Missouri Compromise and the Monroe Doctrine.Following up will be J.Q.Adams and early railroads, Jackson with the Indian Removal Act and Nullification. Then quickly going over the few that seperate him and Polk and the Mexican War.
This unit will have several quizzes over these Presidents, writing assignments on some of the policies, and a unit assesment that will be a power point presentation of a Presidents life and term in office.
