LA CLASE DE LA SEÑORA EDNA
Respect Yourself and Others
ASSIGNMENTS: Spanish classes are every other day. You must turn in assignments when due. I do not give F’s I want your work! You can fix this problem by staying after school, and working with me. I will not give up on you, so do not give up on yourself. CLASS ACTIVITIES: You are expected to listen to directions and to complete class activities within time limits. Classroom activities are frequently graded as oral work. HOMEWORK: Is for YOU and not for ME (I already know Spanish and 4 other languages too)
GRADES are computed based on four factors: 35% oral work/quizzes,40% projects/testing,20% written work. There is no formal grade for something you need, homework, but if you do it and turned in all your work on time(Before the end of a Unit) you will get 5% of points per Unit. I will check it every class period. These extra points can raise your grade! GRADING SCALE: the points value are represented as:
A+ 4.0
A 3.67
A- 3.33
B+ 3.0
B 2.67
B- 2.33
C+ 2.0
C 1.67
C- 1.33
D+ 1.0
D .67
D- .33
F 0
LIFE SKILLS GRADES: Beside the grade for academic achievement in Spanish class, students will have a second report card based on Life Skills Achievement. This includes: Punctuality, Effort, Behavior, Attendance, Cooperation, and Task Completion. These will be graded weekly as 4(A), 3(B), 2(C), 1(D) and 0(F) point for each category. Students scoring a grade of D or F, will be require to come on the Saturday of the same week to re- learn these skills volunteering with me at Franklin or one of Janesville’s non for profit organizations like ECHO, Hedberg Public Library, etc.
ACADEMIC GROWTH: If a student fails an assignment, test, work etc., but later the student achieves the learning of that subject, the student failing grade will not be averaged, but raised according to the Academic Growth of each individual. HELP is available every day from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM. in my classroom. You can call my home phone before 8 PM. at least - 3 days before a project is due, and at least a day before homework is due. ORAL WORK and/or PRESENTATIONS: cannot always be made up. Excessive absence and lack of regular participation (talking in Spanish) may cause oral grade to suffer. NOTEBOOKS or FOLDERS: You should have a notebook or folder for exclusive use in this class. Is school policy to bring your Assignment Book to every class! FOOD: please feel free to send snacks for all students; they are permitted to eat in my classroom. FIESTAS During the year we will celebrate culturally many Hispanic/Latin holidays, your contributions of food, plates, cups, silverware and napkins will be greatly appreciated. PARENTS: You are always welcome to talk to me about your youngster’s progress. Feel free to call me or e-mail me at school: efeldmanschultz@janesville.k12.wi.us
