Holy Trinity School is a parish–based school intended to form and educate its students in the Catholic Faith and in academic subjects that are appropriate to each grade level.  The school assists parents/guardians in the task of developing the knowledge, skills, character and spirituality of their children who are       enrolled and entrusted to its care.

                                                                                                 Issue 86 March 6, 2009

My how the school year passes and so do the days of Lent. Before you know it our school doors will be closed for Spring Break and shortly after we begin the most Holy Week of the year. By the way, be sure to mark you calendars now for the Spring Fling, which will be on Friday evening, April 17, on the campus of Saint Patrick’s Church in Inver Grove Heights. It will be an evening of great food, fellowship and fun for all and also helps out significantly as a fundraiser. I want to extend a personal invitation to all of you to attend one of our School Board meetings, which is helpful to keep abreast of the good things happening in our school through the hard efforts of leaders and volunteers who work hard on our behalf, to include Home and School, the Marketing Committee and the Scholarship Committee. These committees have worked for months to promote Holy Trinity School and to make our programs a success. We will have reports from each of these committees next week on such matters as the Spring Fling event, recent marketing initiatives and prospects for raising some tuition assistance funds. Normally we meet in the Incarnation Room but if we have enough visitors in attendance we will move into the Church Hall, both of which are located in the lower level of the Commons Area (the Adoration Chapel addition). By the way, since the next scheduled School Board meeting would fall on Holy Thursday, there will not be a School Board meeting in the month of April.  We do hope to see you next week on Thursday evening!

Dear Parents,

A big thank-you to our Physical Education teacher, Ms. Steffes, for the great job she did in organizing the Floor Hockey Tournament that took place on Thursday of this week!  This provided a lot of fun and excitement for the students.

Next Thursday, March 12th we’re having a special School Board Meeting to which you are all invited.  We will have presentations from the Home & School Association, Marketing Committee, and Scholarship Committee.  They will give some updates on their work this year and some descriptions of the myriad ways that they help Holy Trinity School.  We could really use more parents to help serve in these vital areas.  So please consider coming to next Thursday’s meeting.  It will be in the church Hall (right below the Church) at 7:00 p.m.  Thanks!

I want to ask you to encourage your children to be careful of our pre-school children when entering the building in the morning.  Some of the students who have been coming in the main door and are rushing to get to their classrooms before they’re tardy have been a little forgetful of our little ones who might be coming into the building at the same time.  Again, thanks.

Thanks also to everyone who has turned in their registration form for next year.  If any of you have some questions or concerns (financial or other) that make you hesitant about next year, please contact me.  We want to have every Holy Trinity family back next year and will try to do everything we can to help make that possible.  The registration due date is Friday, March 20th.

Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you:
The student council designated the last several out of uniform days, to support the library. That support has given me the opportunity to order more of the student’s favorite books.
I just received a shipment of 35 new books. These include Geronimo Stilton, Bone, Magic Tree House, Charlie Bone, Garfield, Spiderwick Chronicles and a new series by Dav Pilkey. I know the students are going to be very excited. Thanks again for all the support.
