Welcome to Austin Catholic Schools Art Page

Austin Catholic Elementary School Art Program has been created by our PTCA as an enrichment education opportunity for our elementary aged children.

Our K-6 art program encourages creativity and self expression through creative problem solving. They learn the elements and principles of design, while having plenty of hands on experience working with a wide variety of materials and techniques.

Students will learn about individual artists while trying out their techniques and styles.

They will create art that demonstrates the relationships between art and culture, also art history will be introduced.

Looking at the art of others, responding to it and evaluating it is very important in learning about art. They will also review and modify their own art work to make it better.

They will experience how art works with other subject areas, such as science, math music, or language.

They will exercise responsible use of tools and materials, and learn the value of recycling items. Please note the web site above for great ideas on projects using recycled items.

Students will also learn how art is a part of our every day society, and how we as artists can enrich our community through it.

Thank you for taking the time to visit!
