BIENVENIDOS. I want to welcome you and your student to a new school year and to my Spanish class. The learning of a foreign language can be a unique experience and I will make every effort to stimulate the interest of all. I teach Spanish III period 2 and  Spanish I 4, 5, 6 and 8 . On this page you will be able to see activities that we will be doing and homework assigned each day. 11/28/11 SPANISH III- STUDENTS CONTINUED WORKING ON THEIR PRETERITE/IMPERFECT STORYBOOKS.

SPANISH I- I RETURNED AND WENT OVER THEIR QUERER QUIZZES. THEY WATCHED THE VIDEOCULTURA AND FILLED IN THE WORKSHEET THAT GOES ALONG WITH IT. I INTRODUCED THE 2ND HALF OF CHAPTER 3 AND WENT OVER THE NEW VOCABULARY LIST.  STUDENTS WATCHED THE DVD ON CONJUGATION OF AR VERBS, TOOK NOTES, AND DID 1 BOOK EXERCISE WITH -AR VERBS. HOMEWORK IS TO FILL IN THE VERB CHART WITH THE -AR VERBS.

11/29/11 SPANISH III- STUDENTS WORKED ON AND TURNED IN PRETERITE/IMPERFECT STORYBOOKS.

SPANISH I- WE WENT OVER THE HOMEWORK (VERB CHART) AND REVIEWED CONJUGATION OF -AR VERBS.  STUDENTS TOOK NOTES ON THE TRANSLATIONS OF -AR VERBS.  IN THE TEXTBOOK WE DID 2 EXERCISES TOGETHER.  WITH A PARTNER STUDENTS DID A WORKSHEET WITH -AR VERBS AND SENTENCE TRANSLATIONS. HOMEWORK IS A WORKSHEET WITH MORE TRANSLATIONS - ENGLISH TO SPANISH.  -AR VERB QUIZ WILL BE ON FRIDAY.

11/30/11 SPANISH III-  STUDENTS DID A PRETERITE VS. IMPERFECT PRACTICE SHEET.  STUDENTS WATCHED A DVD ON FORMATION OF THE FUTURE. (REGULAR AND IRREGULAR) STUDENTS TOOK NOTES AND HOMEWORK IS EX. 1 AND 2 ON WORKSHEET.  WE WENT TO THE LAB AND STUDENTS DID LISTENING EXERCISES.

SPANISH I- WE REVIEWED -AR VERBS AND WENT OVER THE TRANSLATION WORKSHEET. STUDENTS DID EX. 27 AND 28 WITH A PARTNER.  STUDENTS WATCHED THE DVD ON WEATHER AND COPIED THE WEATHER EXPRESSIONS. HOMEWORK IS A WORKSHEET WITH VERB CONJUGATIONS, TRANSLATIONS OF VERB TRANSLATIONS AND 1 EX (P102) ON THE WEATHER.

12/1/11  SPANISH III- STUDENTS DID ANOTHER PRET VS. IMPERFECT PRACTICE SHEET.  WE REVIEWED FUTURE AND DID ORAL POINTS SAYING WHAT DIFFERENT PEOPLE WILL DO TOMORROW.  STUDENTS DID EX 3 AND 5 ON THE WORKSHEET. HOMEWORK IS TO MAKE FLASHCARDS WITH THE IRREGULAR STEMS OF FUTURE VERBS.

SPANISH I- WE WENT OVER THE HOMEWORK AND THE OUTLINE OF TOMORROW'S QUIZ.  STUDENTS DID THE WHITEBOARD WITH PRACTICE OF -AR VERBS.  HOMEWORK IS TO MAKE FLASHCARDS WITH THE NOUNS AND THE TIME EXPRESSIONS ON THEIR VOCAB. SHEET.  HOMEWORK IS TO STUDY FOR THE QUIZ.

12/2/11 SPANISH III- I COLLECTED CULTURE PROJECTS. STUDENTS DID A PRACTICE SHEET WITH PRET. VS. IMPERFECT.  WE REVIEWED IRREGULAR STEMS AND STUDENTS PRACTICED THOSE WITH THEIR FLASHCARDS.  STUDENTS TOOK NOTES ON PROBABILITY OF FUTURE AND DID SOME PRACTICE EXERCISES.  HOMEWORK IS FLASHCARDS WITH NEW VOCABULARY.

SPANISH I- WE PLAYED BINGO WITH -AR VERBS.  STUDENTS TOOK THE -AR VERB QUIZ.  STUDENTS WATCHED THE DVD ON THE VERBS IR AND JUGAR, TOOK NOTES, AND ADDED THESE VERBS TO THEIR VERB CHART.  

12/5/11  SPANISH III- STUDENTS RECEIVED A PRINT OUT OF THEIR MID-TERM 2 AND SEMESTER 1 GRADE. STUDENTS REVIEWED WITH THEIR IRREGULAR FUTURE FLASHCARDS. WE REVIEWED PROBABILITY OF FUTURE AND STUDENTS DID EX. 4 ON WORKSHEET TO PRACTICE FURTHER.  HOMEWORK IS TO TRANSLATE DIALOGUE ON P. 112 IN TEXTBOOK.

12/6/11 SPANISH III- STUDENTS PRACTICED WITH THEIR IRREGULAR FUTURE FLASHCARDS AND THEN TOOK A POP QUIZ.STUDENTS PRACTICED ASKING AND ANSWERING QUESTIONS WITH THE FUTURE OF PROBABILITY.
WE WENT OVER THE HOMEWORK (P112) AND DID PAGE 113 TOGETHER.  IN GROUPS OF 4 STUDENTS DID A SYNONYM VOCABULARY SHEET.  HOMEWORK IS IN THE WORKBOOK (DE ACTIVIDADES)  4 EX.  16, 17, 18 AND 19

SPANISH I- WE WENT OVER THE CROSSWORD PUZZLE AND STUDENTS PRACTICED VOCABULARY WITH THEIR FLASHCARDS. 12/7/11 SPANISH III- WE WENT OVER THE WORKBOOK EXERCISES AND WENT THROUGH THE OUTLINE OF THEIR FUTURE QUIZ. STUDENTS WENT TO THE LAB TO PRACTICE THE FUTURE TENSE. HOMEWORK IS TO STUDY FOR THE QUIZ.

SPANISH I- WE CHECKED THE WORKBOOK EXERCISES,REVIEWED IR, JUGAR, PREPOSITION A AND VOCABULARY. STUDENTS FILLED IN OUTLINE/STUDY GUIDE FOR TOMORROWS/FRIDAYS

12/8/11 SPANISH III- STUDENTS DID ORAL POINTS WITH CONVIENE/ OLVIDAR.  THEY PLAYED CAPITULACION CON SEIS WITH THE FUTURE TENSE,  TOOK THE QUIZ, AND TOOK NOTES ON THE CONDITIONAL TENSE.  HOMEWORK IS A 2 SIDED VOCABULARY SHEET.

SPANISH I-  4/5 PLAYED CAPITULACION CON SEIS, TOOK THE QUIZ, AND DID LISTENING EXERCISES IN THE LAB.

12/9/11 SPANISH III- WE WENT OVER THE HOMEWORK, REVIEWED THE CONDITIONAL, DID ORAL POINTS CHANGING VERBS TO THE CONDITIONAL AND DID 2 EXERCISES ON A WORKSHEET.  HOMEWORK IS A BOOK EXERCISE WITH VOCABULARY AND TRANSLATE THE SENTENCES TO ENGLISH.

SPANISH I- 4/5 PRESENTED CULTURE PROJECTS.  6/8 PLAYED GAME, TOOK QUIZ AND DID LISTENING EXERCISES IN THE LAB.

12/12/11 SPANISH III- WE DID ORAL POINTS WITH THE CONDITIONAL AND STUDENTS WERE GIVEN OUTLINE OF THE CONDITIONAL QUIZ.  WE CHECKED THE BOOK EXERCISES ON PP. 114 AND 115.  STUDENTS TOOK NOTES ON THE FORMATION OF THE SUBJUNCTIVE.  HOMEWORK IS THE FIRST EX. ON WORKSHEET (EVENS ONLY) AND STUDY FOR THE CONDITIONAL QUIZ.

SPANISH I- I RETURNED AND WENT OVER THE QUIZZES (IR/JUGAR/PREP. A/VOC) . WE READ THROUGHT THE CULTURE ITEMS FOR TEST. STUDENTS WERE GIVEN AN OUTLINE AND A PRACTICE QUIZ FOR THE TEST.  HOMEWORK IS TO STUDY FOR THE CHAPTER 3 EXAM.

1/2/11 SPANISH III - STUDENTS WERE GIVEN AN OUTLINE OF THE FINAL EXAM.  STUDENTS TOOK NOTES ON SUBJUNCTIVE WITH HOPES/WISHES/DESIRES AND HOW TO USE THESE VERBS WITH INFINITIVES ALSO. STUDENTS DID EX. 6 AND 8 IN THEIR SUBJUNCTIVE PACKET.  HOMEWORK IS 2 BOOK EXERCISES - EX. 17 AND 18 ON PAGES 18 AND 19 .

SPANISH I- WE REVIEWED ER/IR VERBS AND PRACTICED CONJUGATING SEVERAL.  STUDENTS WROTE AN IN CLASS COMPOSITION.  HOMEWORK IS A 2 SIDED WORKSHEET WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES (CROSSWORD) AND ER/IR VERB PRACTICE.

1/3/11 SPANISH III- WE WENT OVER THE BOOK EX (17 AND 18) AND PRACTICED PRESENT AND PRETERITE VERBS.  WE REVIEWED SER AND ESTAR AND STUDENTS PRACTICED 10 EXAMPLES.  WE REVIEWED FUTURE VS. CONDITIONAL AND STUDENTS DID PRACTICE SIMILAR TO FINAL.  STUDENTS WERE GIVEN A VOCABULARY SHEET TO STUDY FROM FOR THE FINAL EXAM.  HOMEWORK IS WORKBOOK EX.  P.

1/4/11 SPANISH III- WE WENT OVER WKBK PAGES 6, 29 AND 35.  STUDENTS PRACTICED CONJUGATING THE IMPERFECT AND FUTURE TENSES.  THEY ALSO DID ANOTHER PRACTICE EX WITH FUTURE VS. CONDITIONAL.  STUDENTS TOOK NOTES ON SUBJECT PRONOUNS, REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS AND PRONOUNS AFTER PREPOSITIONS AND DID 10 M.CHOICE ITEMS.  HOMEWORK IS A PRETERITE/IMPERFECT ACTVITY AND P. 16 IN THE WORKBOOK.

SPANISH I- WE WENT OVER THE WORKBOOK PAGES AND THEN DID ANOTHER BRAIN TEASER WITH FAMILY VOCABULARY.  WE PRACTICED MORE POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES.  STUDENTS RECEIVED NEW VERB CHART AND WATCHED THE DVD ON E TO IE STEM CHANGING VERBS. STUDENTS FILLED IN THOSE VERBS ON THE VERB CHART. HOMEWORK IS EX. 9 ON P. 163 WITH POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES. GIVE THE POSS. ADJ. AND TRANSLATE THE CONVERSATION TO ENGLISH.
