Third Grade Music – October 28 and 29, 2008

We will review a few Halloween songs:
"Scarecrow", "Do the Igor" and "Pumpkin March"

We will continue to work on the following songs:

I THINK I'LL THINK TWICE

Teacher told us yesterday you're gonna have a test.
Better study hard because you want to do your best.
I spent my whole evening playin' video games.
(solo, optional:  Now I'm gonna flunk it man.  I must have been insane.)

What was I thinkin'?
What was goin' through my mind?
(shout, opt.:  What was I thinkin')
I think I'll think twice next time.

Walked into the theater to watch the latest show.
Went to the concession ' cause I had some extra dough.
Bought a dozen candy bars, some popcorn, and a Coke.
(solo, opt."  Can't believe I ate it all 'cause now I'm gonna choke.)

What was I thinkin'?
What was goin' through my mind?
(shout, opt.:  What was I thinkin')
I think I'll think twice next time.

(divisi, opt.):  Consequences for ev'rything I do and say.
Consequences are always gettin' in my way.

Didn't do my chores like my dad and mama said.
Wasn't motivated so I messed around instead.
Didn't want to tell 'em so I told a little lie.
(solo, opt.:  Now I'm grounded to my room until I'm twenty-five.)

What was I thinkin'?
What was goin' through my mind?
(shout, opt.:  What was I thinkin')
I think I'll think twice next time.

What was I thinkin'?
What was goin' through my mind?
(shout, opt.:  What was I thinkin')
I think I'll think twice next time.

    GROWIN’ UP

Chorus:
Growin’ up means doin’ things you don’t want to do sometimes.
Growin’ up means doin’ things you don’t want to do sometimes.

1.  Like eatin’ all your greens, keep your bedroom clean,
Take your dirty jeans to the laundry room.
Think of someone else, not about yourself.
No more alibis, it’s time to realize.

Chorus:
Growin’ up means doin’ things you don’t want to do sometimes.
Growin’ up means doin’ things you don’t want to do sometimes.

2.  Like get a summer job, help out in the yard,
Study extra had so you make good grades.
Wash a dish or two after supper’s through.
Now you’ve got a clue it’s not about you

Chorus:
Growin’ up means doin’ things you don’t want to do sometimes.
Growin’ up means doin’ things you don’t want to do sometimes.

Growin’ up!  Growin’ up!  Growin’ up!  Growin’ up!
Shout, optional:  Growin’ up!
