In honor of the 175th anniversary of the founding of my religious community, School Sisters of Notre Dame, I have given the students who were missing assignments from the first half of the quarter a chance to turn in all missing work and do all required drumming and singing assignments. They have until, Friday, October 24, 2008 which is the actual day of the anniversary. I hope that all students will take advantage of this chance to improve their music grade.
As I told the 8th grade, this chance only comes once in 175 years. VERY FEW students took advantage of this grace period.
A wonderful adjustment is being made in the 8th grade music class. I have always hated having tests on Monday, therefore, I was very happy when Mrs. Phillips presented the following idea. I will review with the students during class on Monday. On Tuesday during study hall the students will take the test. The test only takes about ten minutes. The students will still have ample time to study. This is a great idea. I think the reason some students do poorly is because they have forgotten to study.

During class we will be singing our rock n' roll
medley.
