UPDATE - NOVEMBER 2

Our latest Kindergarten musical adventure has included sitting around a campfire in the middle of the music room and roasting real marshmellows while we were singing campfire songs. We had a visit from SpongeBob Square Pants. The kindergarten has been learning some really big words in his song.
Who lives in a pineapple under the Sea? Sponge Bob Square Pants.
Absorbent and yellow, and pourous is he. Sponge Bob Square Pants.
If nautical nonsense is something you wish. Sponge Bob Square Pants.
Drop on the deck and flop like a fish. Sponge Bob Square Pants.
Another guest was a great big pumpkin, and we sang songs about pumpkins. We also learned about the skeleton part and sang Dry Bones.
We will be working on the song, "OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS." This is a Thanksgiving favorite. Next is all the Santa and Christmas songs. Once we are in December the Kindergarten will go through the school singing Christmas Carols.
Kindergarten music class stays busy all the time.

UPDATE - OCT 22
We have been singing songs about halloween pumpkins. There are several songs from the Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin collection. This month is also Fire Prevention Month so we have been singing about Firemen and Firefighters. The Chicken dance is a favorite still. The "Farmer In The Dell is the top of the list of favorites." We do the dance along with singing the song. It is fun to hear all of the giggles while they dance.

UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 24

We have been singing songs and having fun in Kindergarten. Some of the songs are:
1. I've Been Working On The Railroad.
2. Six Little Ducks.
3. On Top Of Spaghetti
4. Sponge Bob Square Pants.
5. Mary Had A Little Lamb
6. Put Your Hands Up In The Air
We have also played triangles, quacked ducks, played with fuzzy ducks, learned the Chicken Dance, the Hokey Pokey, played Simon Sez, and started with a skeleton for the song "Them Bones, Them Dry Bones".

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 1, 2007
Hello, and welcome to Kindergarten Music. We have already had two classes for music and the students are having a lot of fun. Over the year I will be introducing the students to musicial instruments that are used while singing songs. We have already sung songs with the guitar, banjo, and the piano. Each week there will be a new musical instrument. Check back with this page for updates each week. I will keep a running list for you to watch.
One of our first songs has been about the stoplight. It reminds the students to stop on red, go on green. Cross the street at the corner or crosswalk. To stop, look, and listen both ways. We actually have a stoplight on a stand in the music room that blinks red, yellow, and green.
Our song list so far:
1. If you're happy and you know it.
2. Stop Light.
3. Twinkle Twinkle little star.
4. Take me out to the ball game.
5. Oh Susanna.
