To all fourth grade parents:
We will begin our book reports on October 1, 2009. Each student will choose a chapter book from the classroom or bookmobile with 100 pages or more. Each book must be shown to Ms. Stieferman for approval. Each student needs to read the book at home and write a book report each month beginning in October 2009 through the month of April 2010. Each book report will be a part of the student's reading grade, worth 100 points each. These book reports are not optional. When the student does not turn in a book report on time at the end of each month, the student will receive a zero toward their reading grade. The due date for each book report will be stated in the monthly newsletter and written in each student's assignment notebook. Those students who successfully complete a monthly book report will receive a Pasta House coupon. Those students who successfully complete all the book reports on time will receive a special surprise from Ms. Stieferman in May 2010. Ms. Stieferman will give the students a copy of the book report format on October 1, 2009. If the student needs another copy of the book report form, they need to get this from Ms. Stieferman. The book reports may be neatly handwritten or typed on the computer. The student has a month to complete each book report so they should be able to finish on time and turn them in on the due date.
