Chancellor’s Scholarship
Missouri University of Science and Technology
Must complete admission application and scholarship application by November 1.
Application in counseling center or online at sfa.mst.edu.
$12, 000.

Danforth Scholars Program
Must be applying to Washington University, committed to community service, and have outstanding academic performance.  This is merit based but need will be considered.
Students wishing to be nominated should see their college counselor.
October 15, 2008.

FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education)
Open to all seniors.  Must write in-depth essay explaining why free speech and First Amendment rights are crucial to higher education and how abuses of these rights harm the college experience.
Application at www.thefire.org/contests.
$5000.
November 20, 2008.

Fireside Catholic Publishing
We may nominate ONE student.
Interested students should submit an essay answering “How is your religious education influencing your life?” The essay must be a maximum of 750 words.
One essay will then be selected to complete on a national level.
Five winners will receive $1000.
November 1, 2008.

Greater St. Louis Mother of Twins Club
Must be child of multiple birth.
Application in counseling center.
Financial need considered.
2 scholarships of $1000.
Must be received by February 15, 2009.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Variety of scholarships for students of Hispanic descent.  Must have gpa of 3.0 and financial need.
Information available at www.hsf.net.  Click on scholarships, then scholarship for high school students.  Each scholarship has it own requirements and dollar amount.
December 1, 2008.

Horatio Alger Scholarship
Must have critical financial need (adjusted gross income $50,000 or less) and exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity, involvement in activities, minimum gpa of 2.0.
May submit application online at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships
Will need a copy of your parents’ tax return.

Jack Buck Scholar-Leadership Award
Must be planning to enroll at Southeast Missouri State University.
Student must have outstanding character, academic ability, and potential as leader.
Nerinx may nominate ONE student.

Quest for Education Scholarships
Must be a member of the Vantage Quest Credit Union and complete scholarship application.
25 scholarships for $1500 will be awarded.

Ron Brown Scholar Program
Must be Black or African American.

SAE Engineering Scholarships
Must be earning a degree in engineering.

Southern Methodist University
Hunt Leadership Scholars Program
Must have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, submission of essay, ACT 28 or SAT 1280, strong academic classes.
Full tuition and fees less cost of state institution.

University of Kansas
Visual Arts Freshman Scholarship

University of Notre Dame Club Scholarship Program
Must have applied to University of Notre Dame by December 31 and completed FAFSA by February 15.  Financial need is a must for this scholarship.
$1000 - $7500.
Application for scholarship must be completed by March 31, 2009.

Verbal Volley Showdown
Play “Other Wordly-the Verbal Volley for college Prep.”
First place $1000, second place $700, third place $500.

Tournament will be held on March 1, 2009.

Must have 3.0 gpa or higher and participate in at least one school sponsored sport.
