I will not be teaching this course this year.
Have a good summer and a great year.
Ms. Casias Noonan
Greetings Students in Meeting Christ in Word and Sacrament:***
We have just returned from our long weekend to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I hope that you had a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Today we will continue to discuss your Chapter Four Worksheets from the JTNT books. Please take good notes as we discuss the material. You will have a test on this material the first class of next week. At that time I will also collect your group work. Remember if you were absent for the day of group work, and/or if your group did not complete the work during the class time, you are individually responsible for the answers to the questions. Everyone received a goldenrod worksheet describing the assignments.
Last week I did collect your Service Commitment sheet. If you did not get this in I expect to receive it before the end of this week, by January 21,2 005. It is already late.
You have also turned in your Godspell worksheets and your Beatitude Reflection from page 50 in the JTNT text.
Today in class, you received your instructions for the third quarter trial project and the stations of the cross mini-project. You picked dyads for the stations of the cross. Next week we will divide the class into Defense and Prosecution teams for the Trial project. Please read over the material handed out and ask questions if you have them, next class.
Last week you also received the updated syllabus and your fourth quarter project guidelines on the sacraments. You also picked groups for this project. Please mark the project presentation dates in your planner. Each group has a specific presentation date depending on the specific sacrament.
There are internet sites for you to use for these projects listed on this web page. For the Sacrament project your first resource is the Living Catholic Sacraments text. You should present the information provided in designated chapters for your sacrament. You can supplement your presentation with outside sources and information. Have fun with the material and your class will enjoy your presentation. See me if you have questions. Remember to use the late start Wednesday opportunity if your group has trouble finding a meeting time.
Keep warm and have a good week.
Ms. Deborah Casias Noonan

The material below is from last semester.
I hope you enjoyed our trip to the Sharre Emeth Synagogue yesterday.
I am grading your Second Gospel notes and your test on Judaism.
You received your instructions for your second quarter project. This should be your main task outside of class. If you did not complete at least thirty questions of the packet on Christianity, you should come and work on it during Contact Time, or you may be able to check out one of the four books on reserve in the Library at the Reference desk. Remember that there are only four of these.
You have been given two class periods to work on the packet. It is my hope that we can begin discussing the pack your second class of this week.
Some of you have come to talk to me about your Community Service please remember that all Community Service for Second Quarter must be completed by Dec.1, 2004.
I will not accept community service packets late this quarter because we have exams and many other things going on.
Have a good week. ***

*****Once you get there, click on "The Four Canonicals". This will take you to a screen where all four Gospels can be compared to each other. You will have to scroll each Gospel to the passage that you want to compare. *****

&*&*&*&*&&*&*&*&*&*&*&*& Introduction to the course follows:
Bring all your books to class the first week. I want to show you resource areas in each book.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Remember to take good notes using the guide sheet that will be given to you in class. Read for meaning, write your notes in your own words. Note questions that arise about things that you don't understand or don't agree with. Then be ready to share these in class. All work should be complete on the due dates, but it will be collected on the day of the test or quiz so that you will have the work to study from. I reserve the right to collect the work on the due date and check it in -- so do not put off completing the work until before the test/quiz; you could end up with a zero if you haven't completed your work before we go over it in class.
Aug. 19, 2004 you also received some of the long term and ongoing assignments. Please read these sheets and be sure to ask for clarification if there is anything you do not understand. Note the due dates. All work that is asked for, will be due on the due date.

Basic Information about the course and its requirements: This page will be available for you to get homework and project assignments and test/quiz dates. It will be updated weekly.
I will provide the classroom text for World Religions A Voyage of Discovery by Jeffrey Brodd and Michael Wilt. We will only use this in class, you will not be able to take it home.
Please keep all books here at school in your locker, since we will be using all of them throughout the year. If you accidentally leave a book at home, then borrow a book from a Sophomore who isn't in theology class during our class period. Please come to class prepared on time. You will be told what book to bring to class but sometimes you will need to get one of the other books from your lockers.
I'll see you in class.
Enjoy the year and let me know how I can help you to be successful in this class. If you need help come and talk to me. You are also welcome to just stop by and visit. I enjoy the company.
