This course is offered to juniors, seniors and adults. It is designed to introduce students to the health care delivery system and provide foundation academic knowledge in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, infection control, human growth and development, and communciation. In addition the students receive on the job training in local health care facilities. Clinical experience will begin with the 2nd quarter and last throughout the year. Students must have a physical exam, tuberculosis test, proof of immmunizations, hepatitis B vaccine or a signed declination statement, and copy of social security card. Black and red colored uniform and sturdy shoes are required. Students are required to pay a fee for liability insurance, background check and an optimal fee for certification. This is a one year program. This course is a 3 hour class for 2 semesters and for 3 units of credit. Class limit is 15.
