I hope you found Spring Break to be as refreshing as I did. The weather didn't cooperate, but the time with my family made the clouds go away. Spring is a time for new growth and sunny days. With that in mind, Spring is also a time for students to show off their new skills, and show that they are ready for the next grade level.
Our students will have the perfect opportunity to show off their new skills this week. We will be taking the math portion of the MAP test this week. Students testing in my classroom may bring a clear liquid to drink(ex. Propel, water, flavored water, etc.) They may also bring a snack as long as it is healthy food(ex. fruit, crackers, pretzels,etc.) Students will also need to bring a calculator. I have enough calculators for the students, but they tend to do better when they bring their own.
This will be the final week of MAP testing, so expect your children to be excited Friday. Following MAP testing, we have about five weeks left in our school year. This time of year many children lose focus, and find themselves bringing home unpleasant grades in May. Please help in keeping your children focused so we can all have a wonderful summer.
