Mr. Wright's

6th-8th grade classes

Dear Parents,

I trust, that by now, you have seen your childs' progress report.  If it seems like we just had 3rd qtr. conferences, you're not the only one.  Many of the students have just a few grades on their progress reports.  There just hasn't been much time to get very many new things started.  Because of this, some students have lower than usual grades.  If your child only has three grades on their grade report, one low grade can significantly lower their total grade.  The important thing to remember is that these are just progress reports, and not their final grades.
So far this quarter my 7th grade Geography class has been able to begin their study of Europe.  They seem to be enjoying it, and particularly like learning about the foods and traditions of the European countries.  My mother, Anita Wright, has had an opportunity to visit many countries throughout Europe, and has taken many extraordinary pictures.  I hope to be able to use these pictures to help the students visualize what Europe is like.
All students are getting ready to gear up for MAP testing.  MAP testing is important to us as a community.  I think of it like the "Super Bowl" of academics.  The better we do as a school on this test, the better our students and community look to Missouri and the rest of the nation.  I hope that you will begin building your child up for this test at home.  I know that we will be working toward MAP testing until testing time is over.
As always, feel free to call me at home, or at school.  Aaron Wright
