MONDAY – 4/20/09
Focus:  Good Times, Bad Times
1.     Discuss the farming lessons learned from the Dust Bowl on page 229.
2.    I will use my John Steuart Curry poster and pictures from the Capitol building to help the students answer the questions in the last paragraph on page 231.
3.    Read and discuss pages 232-235.
4.    Work on study guide if time permits.

TUESDAY – 4/21/09
Focus:  Good Times, Bad Times
1.     Read and discuss pages 236-238.
2.    Chapter 10 worksheets.
3.    Finish study guide.

WEDNDESDAY – 4/22/09
Focus:  Good Times, Bad Times
1.     Chapter 10 test.
2.    Begin Chapter 11; read and discuss pages 242-247.
3.    Students will take notes over the World War II information for an assignment they will begin tomorrow.

THURSDAY – 4/23/09
Focus:  A Changing Society, A Modern World
1.     World War II video (30 mins.) – Students will take notes for a newspaper article that they will begin tomorrow.
2.    After the video I will play audio clips of interviews from World War II veterans from Kansas.  The students will also take notes over the audio clip.

FRIDAY- 4/24/09
Focus:  A Changing Society, A Modern World
1.     Students will read pages 248-255; the students will also take notes over today’s reading for the article.
2.    Once the students finish their reading they will begin writing their rough draft to their article.  The guidelines will be written on the board.  The final copy will not be due until next Wednesday.
3.    Work on the chapter 11 study guide if time permits.

** (I will be working on the master schedule for the 2009/2010 school year and will not be in class today.)
