WORLD GEOGRAPHY

During the first week of October, we will complete our study of Climate and Weather (Chapter 3) and focus on Landforms, Water, and Natural Resources (Chapter 4).  In this chapter, students will examine how the theory of plate tectonics explain various physical processes that shape the Earth's surface.    In addition, we will look at the processes that externally influence the Earth's landforms.

Monday - Chapter 3 Review (Worksheet)
Tuesday - Chapter 3 Test (50 pts.)

WORLD HISTORY

This week we begin our study of the early Greek culture, including the Mycenaeans and Minoan influences.  In addition, students will learn about religious beliefs in the gods of Mt. Olympus that unified the city-states which spread across the Ionian peninsula and beyond.  We will analyze the conflicting philosophies of both Sparta and Athens that were briefly forgotten when united against the mighty force of Persia's army.  This week students will complete various assignments for their Portfolio.

[Students in this subject can choose to create a special project or make a presentation to the class to replace any one test each semester]
