Daily Reading and Reading Log - ALL GRADES

Students are to read at home every night for at least 20 minutes and respond in their reading log. 6th and 7th graders have a weekly reading log (always due on the following Monday) that must be signed by the parent/guardian. 8th graders have a bi-weekly reading log that doesn't need a parental signature (reading sessions and logs are expected to be shared with the parents)

AR 6 Week Point Goals - ALL GRADES

All students have an individualized point goal that was set at the beginning of the 6 weeks. Ask your child about their point goal!!!!

Journals - 7 & 8 grade only

Parents and Students - Each student has received a notebook that will be used for class journal writing. Students will be expected to complete a certain number of journal topics on a 6 week basis following the guidelines I have given on the first day (topic, date, and 2 complete paragraphs). Be sure you understand what is expected of you!! DUE 10-29-09

How to get Extra Points!

- Find a misspelling or grammar error! It can be in a book, newspaper, magazine, or any other printed work. Tell me how it should be corrected and you get 2 points.
- Bring to class any English/Language Arts related comic strip and you'll get 5 extra points.
