In this unit, students will read and respond to classical and contemporary poetry. Students will also create their own poetry.
Monday, November 30, 2009- Journal: You have been invited to a party for poets only. The invitation requests that you respond in the form of a poem. Write a short poem accepting the invitation.

Tuesday, December 1, 2009- Journal: Write new words for a familiar song. Make the new lyrics fit the rhythm as well as you can.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009- Journal: Make a list of everything you know about a wild animal's habitat (home), life span, habits, diet size, color, etc. Then write a poem about the animal.
