STUDENT COUNCIL NAMED ONE OF THE TOPS IN LOUISIANA
The JMS Student Council returned from the LASC State Convention on Monday after receiving the Gold Division Award as one of the top student councils in Louisiana. In order to reach that goal, each Student Council must meet certain criteria related to student projects and community service projects. Accepting the award for Judice was President Lane LeBlanc. JMS also received recognition for Student Council Week and its project in the Galaxy of Ideas. It also was awarded a plaque as a member of the Mega Bucks Club for its donation of $500 to the State Charity project - Families Helping Families.
While there for the 3 day convention, Lane participated in the essay contest, Courtney Hernandez represented JMS in the speech contest and also helped Katelyn LeBlanc and Hannah Arsement with two entries in the poster contests based on the convention theme: Be a Star. Working on the Galaxy of Ideas were Caris Wright, Lauren Francis, and Michael Derouen.
On Sunday evening the group enjoyed the night cruise on the Riverboat Natchez and the walk around the French Quarter.
The organization would like to thank Ms. LeMaire, Mrs. C. Latiolais, and Mr. Latiolais for accompanying them to the convention.
