Graded papers go home on Terrific Tuesdays. Please look over your child's papers, sign them, and return them the following day.

Week of November 9 - 13:
Language: Skills covered this week are identifying NOUNS: words that name people, places, anc things.
Spelling: Unit 14: Words with the long vowel e sound spelled with "ee" as in seen, and "ea" as in eat found on textbook pages 86-91. Please check your child's planner daily for spelling homework, and a list of spelling words. *Spelling Words can be found on line by clicking on the flashcard link at the top of schoolnotes page.
Handwriting/Language K: Writing upper and lower case letter "Kk". Language/Phonics = Beginning sounds for letter "k" as in kite.
Spelling/Phonics K: Phonemic Awareness = initial consonant "k" sound and spelling words: key, kite, kick, kiss, keep. Writing capital letter "K" and lower case "k".
Week of November 9 - 13:
Reading: Students will be reading the Fiction Story called "One Clean House" from the Rigby Reading Series. Go over vocabulary words daily with your child and read the story at home nightly. Reading Assessment will be given on Friday.
SIPPS: SIPPS Phonetic Program: Extention Level. Phonics Skills: New sounds: "all" and "al". New Sight Words for the week: "picture, eye, busy"
Reading K: Students will be reading from the Rigby Reading Series, Level A, "On My Block". Please read the story with your child nightly and go over the vocabulary cards in their packet.
* Students should be reading orally each and every evening for 30 minutes. Students can read the story we are reading together in class, or they can read from their AR books. Students must meet their AR reading goals each six weeks. Keep up the Great Reading!
Week of November 9 - 13:
MATH: Students are working in Chapter 5: The skills covered in this week are as follows: Addition Skills: Counting on to Add, Find the sum using a number line, Adding Doubles, and Adding Doubles-plus-one,
Students should be spending approximately 10 minutes each evening reviewing their math facts at home with the aid of flash cards, computer games or any other imaginative ways. Please assist your child with these skills.
Week of November 9 -13:
Social Studies/Science: The students will be working in the Science Text, Chapter 9: "The Properties of Matter" and "The Three Types of Matter"
