THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH FOR THE "CLASS GIFTS."
My husband and I will surely enjoy the gift card for a nice evening out to dinner at "Sullivan's."(It's our 22nd wedding anniversary next week) The LSU cheese plate, spreader, and hand towel you also gave will be used for many tailgating parties to come! I'll think of my SPECIAL 2008-2009 class each time I use it. You all have showered me with your love and support 'till the end. I can't thank you enough.
Now on to some "news" I have to share with you all.....
(Incoming third graders,too)
I will not be returning to teach at MBS next year. I have accepted a teaching position in EBR public schools teaching 4th gr. Math and Science (imagine that-- my "love"!!) I will be 1 minute away from my home at Shenandoah Elementary.
This was a very difficult decision for me to make,as my heart will always be with and belong to my MBS family and friends. MBS was my "comfort zone" and my job was truly a blessing and gift that I enjoyed doing each and every day. At least, I won't be very far away.
Please understand...I just couldn't tell the kids my news...my heart would not let me. This last week was hard enough for me, and I just wanted to end it on the happy notes and wonderful memories we shared together all year. I couldn't stand to see my "babies" sad or upset on the last day of school so I waited until now. This was THE BEST YEAR EVER FOR ME AT MBS AND GOD GAVE ME THE GREATEST 61 STUDENTS EVER TO LOVE AND TEACH!!! (I guess He had a plan for me and knew what He was doing for me back in August-maybe that's why we had such a fun and learning-filled year, with ALOT of laughs and good times!)
I will miss you all more than you'll ever know.
I hope I touched your child's life this year in some small way that made a positive difference. They ALL touched mine as I watched them grow in such a short time.
Best of luck next year. Those "babies" will all do just fine in 4th grade as I think we prepared them well. I know they'll make me proud.
Please keep me in your prayers , and know that you'll be close in my heart always... and not too far down the street either. :-)
HAPPY SUMMER!! Stay safe, and God bless each and every one of you.....
(the tears have arrived now..............)
Love y'all,
Mrs. Landry :-)
