HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL MOTHERS!!
I hope you are able to spend some special family time with your precious children today. I cherish every "quiet" moment spent with my 18,16, and 14 year old-- they grow up over night... and then they graduate. I will not be at school next Monday the 19th. My oldest son graduates from St. Michael's on the 19th and my "baby" daughter graduates from MBS next Tuesday. (pray for my sanity please- We have all of our out of town family from Crowley coming in!)
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! I was so spoiled all week long for Teacher Appreciation Week. The flowers given to me by the class on Wednesday is just absolutely GORGEOUS!!! (I think the Moms who came to school and arranged them in the vase certainly have a hidden talent that any florist shop would die for!!)I think this was such a neat idea from our awesome room mothers. Thanks so much!! I'm praying the flowers last until next weekend as this makes such a beautiful centerpiece for all of my graduation events next week.
I'm so grateful for all the gifts you gave me. The sweets, treats, and cards, etc.etc. just made my day. Home and School spoiled us each day with breakfasts, lunches, desserts, and a fun crawfish boil Friday evening. I read all the cards made by the students last night. I'll never forget these precious children-they've been a joy to teach!
Many thanks again for your generosity. I felt so appreciated. You're such an amazing group!!

OTHER NOTES:
1. Math Class- We'll have a couple graded class work sheets to do this week to review addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division computation and a "Dirty Dozen" test. Please don't let these skills get "rusty" over the summer. 4th grade Math will start with these skills in August! We'll fill in any additional time with more fraction and geometry concepts that were started before Tera Nova testing.
2.Science Class- no more tests. Yeah!! We'll cover as much as we can this week with what's left in our book in the form of group work/coopertive learning. A grade will be given for homework/participation.
The extra credit planet report presentations were awesome last week!:-)
3.CABBAGE PLANT CONTEST- I've been asked several questions. First, this isn't for extra credit. It was optional participation for a contest. The entry deadline is the end Of August I think. Please continue to grow your cabbage all summer to be as "big as you can get it" if the heat allows. I will ask for a picture a few weeks after school begins from those who are interested in entering the contest. I will chose the best (biggest) two- one from 3A, one from 3B to enter the contest.A picture of the cabbage with a reference point(ex.yard stick, your child kneeling next to it, a basketball, etc...)is the best. They also ask for an approximate weight and diameter of the head. A note to those of who who've already sent me pics- Keep Growing!! The winners are at least 2-3 times bigger!! They're HUGE.
4.Students getting no greenslips or checklists, no incompletes, and 100% in Conduct all year will be getting a special note from me this week. They'll be allowed a special treat on Friday from me as a reward and recognition for their terrific accomplishments in responsibility this year.
LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL DATES:
Monday, May.19- last regular day of school
Tuesday, May 20 -no school for third graders
Wednesday, May 21- Field Day for 3rd-4th grade.Appropriate free dress is allowed;tennis shoes are recommended for the activities. AWARDS PROGRAM AT 12PM IN THE GYM. We suggest and encourage you take your children home with you or make arrangements with someone else after this program. There will not be after school care services on this day.
Friday,May 23- Report Cards will be mailed.
Have a great last week of school! To think where they "were" last August, to where they "are" now and what they have become is incredible!! Lots of learning, growth, and maturity surely did take place within all of my 64 "gifts" to teach. Thanks for allowing me "to teach and do my job", what I soooo enjoy doing.:-)
This is the last l-o-n-g SchoolNotes I'll be writing.Whew!
Love and blessings,
Mrs. Landry :-)
