Dear Parents,
Today your child is coming home with a note regarding supplies that they will need by Friday. I'm sorry for a change, but they will not need the binder pockets, we've decided to do something different. They will need a large white poster, and two large grocery type paper bags. We are also in need of several rolls of clear packaging tape. We would appreciate any donations of the tape. We will be starting next week on our preparations for the informance. We will be studying all of the states, and our class is focusing on the Southeast Region. Also, spirit ribbons will be for sale this week. The dollar is due tomorrow, Thurs., and the ribbons will be handed out on Friday.
Have a great night!

Dear Parents,
I wanted to advise you of a change for this week. We will have the open book Social Studies test on Friday instead of Thursday this week. Please encourage your child to take their time to look up the answers in their books.
Also, we are needing four binder pockets with tabs per child. We will be putting these in a folder for writing. If you could send those with your child to school by next Monday that would be helpful.
Thank You,
Julie Rickner

Dear Parents,
Hi, I hope that everyone is having a great week. We are starting something exciting here at Rose Union that I wanted to let you know about. We will be having a Special Olympic Coin/Dollar Drive during Rendezvous. We go to Rendezvous on Fridays, and the Drive will start this Friday. During the month of October we will be having an OU vs. OSU contest. This competition will also include Prairie Vale and Deer Creek Elementary. Go RU!!!! Have your kids bring their loose change Friday.
On another note, I wanted to let you know something about our schedule this year. I realize that we all have dentist appointments, etc. that make it necessary to check our children out early at times. However, the way that we have had to do our schedule this year makes checking out early very often a difficult thing. Our class is in with Mrs. Stone for Math from 2:30 to 3:30. Needing to check children out early occasionally is no problem, but Mrs. Stone and I would greatly appreciate it if it wasn't a regular thing. Math concepts advance quickly, and we hate to see anyone fall behind.
Thank you very much for your support.

Dear Parents,
I have just a couple of reminders. Tomorrow is the day that Ident-a-Kid will be here. Make sure to return the envelope if you are interested in your child getting cards made.
I did not send home a reading homework sheet this week. We are reading a novel this week, and are reviewing the spelling words from the last 5 weeks. Friday's spelling test will be long. I will pick 50 words from the past 5 reading weeks. I sent home a list of all of the spelling words from the past 5 weeks on Tuesday. Tomorrow we will be having a Social Studies test over chapter 1. We did a study guide together in class today, and that was to go home with them in their Bear Binders. I decided after school today that I will let them use their books as well as their study guides, so you can let your child know if they are feeling nervous about the test tomorrow. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your children. I am enjoying each and every child in my class!!!!

Dear Parents,
It has been brought to my attention that some of you are not able to open up the newsletter on your computers. Due to this issue I will start sending home a copy of the newsletter with your child on Fridays.
Thank you,

Dear Parents,
I wanted to let you know that my web page is having some technical difficulties. I tried to update it Friday after school, and wasn't able to update the vocabulary or newsletter page. I have been in contact with the technology department, and it will hopefully be up and running by Wednesday.
The vocabulary words are as follows: endless, realistic, universe, astronaut, sensible, protested, and paralyzed.
I am looking forward to another good week. Feel free to e-mail me with any concerns or questions that you may have.

Dear Parents,
I wanted to take the time to brag on your kids!!! Yesterday they worked very hard and really started to show me that they are up for the challenge of being responsible fourth graders!!!!
I wanted to let you know about a few things that will start this week. Today your child will come home with a reading record. I showed this to everyone on Back to School Night. They will be keeping record of what they read, and how much. I also wanted to inform you of how I will be handling missing papers. I have told the class about this, and that it will start this week. I will be sending home a missing papers note on Friday with any assignments that were not handed in by Friday of that week. If the papers are completed and brought back on Monday, they will be able to receive a 70 for the work. If the work is not handed in on Monday, then the grade will be a 0. Hopefully I will not have to send very many of these notes home. This is my way of giving everyone a second chance, but also expecting them to complete work on time.
Finally, we are very excited about Grandparents Day this Friday. Our class will be having our special time with grandparents at 11:00, until around 12:00. Our homeroom mom, Andrea has already contacted many of you to bring cookies and punch. Thank you to all of you that are helping make this a special day for the kids and the grandparents. Thank you for all of your support!!

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for all of you that came last night to parent night. I know that there were some of you that had conflicts, and I appreciate you letting me know. Those of you that weren't able to make it will be getting a folder with information in it with your child today. Please check their back packs for the folder. After looking through the information, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to e-mail me. If you would like to talk over the phone please e-mail me with your phone number and I will call you as soon as I get a chance. My website is going to be the best way to obtain information regarding what is going on in our class. We also stressed last night that the agendas need to be signed nightly by you. Thank you so much for your support. I am looking forward to a great year!!!!
