I hope you're all enjoying a fantastic start to a fantastic summer!
Our school website is in the process of being re-designed, but it should be updated in the near future. Please check the website periodically for updated information. We have also created a school-wide email distribution list that will be used beginning this summer.
Here are a few dates that you will want to add to your calendar:
Wednesday, August 5- BILL DAY Please bring two current utility bills on this day for residency verification.
9:00-4:00
Wednesday, August 5- New Student Enrollment day
Monday, August 17th- 8:30-11:30 Meet the Teacher Day
Tuesday, August 18th- First Day of School
*Bill Day is something different this year. We ask that ALL parents bring their utility bills on this day. There will be several school employees taking bills and verifying residency so your wait won't be too long! This will really help us to finalize our enrollment for the 2009-10 school year.
Enjoy your summer!

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS COMING SOON!
Our school board voted last night to change the district's last day of school to Thursday, May 21st. This decision is in compliance with the new state laws that allow schools to count hours in session rather than days. For more information please visit the district's website at www.deercreekschools.org.
The kindergarten recognition ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 21st at 9:15. All children should be in their classrooms at 8:45 in the morning. This recognition is for both A.M. and P.M. classes.
The 5th grade graduation ceremony will begin at 12:00 on Thursday, May 21st. There are many activities that will be taking place for our 5th grade students on this day. We would love for you to come and join us for an afternoon of fun! Check your child's backpacks early next week for a flyer with more information.
A great-big "THANKS" goes out to all of our parents who have volunteered to plan and organize these upcoming events!! We are looking forward to sharing these milestones with our kindergarten and 5th grade students.
Have a super week!

Dear Parents,
We are so close to the end of the year, it's just unbelievable how quickly the days have gone by. This has been such a transition year for our school and I just want to thank you all for your support in my first year as principal. I want you
to know how much I have truly enjoyed being part of the Rose Union Family.
It's that time of year where I can really look back and reflect on how things have been done and how we can do things differently. I would love to get your input and hear your concerns if you have them.
I have gotten wonderful feedback from parents all year long. But I also know there are those of you out there that may feel differently and would like the opportunity to sit and visit. Please know that I am available anytime you would like to come and visit with me. I will be at Camp Classen with our 5th graders on Wednesday and Thursday of next week, but I will make myself available any other time. Please contact our office at 359-3188 to make an appointment, or you can pop in and see if I'm available.
Let's work together to make Rose Union the BEST it can be!

Parents,
Please read the important message below regarding the H1N1 virus. We are in the process of disinfecting all areas of our school and taking necessary precautions. If you choose to check your child out of school it will not count against them. We will keep you informed of any and all new information as it arises.
Stacy Edwards
H1N1 Update
Today Deer Creek School District was informed that a pending case of H1N1 Influenza exists for a Deer Creek student. The specimen has been sent to the CDC for testing. At this time our schools have been encouraged not to close school by John Lowry, Oklahoma County Health Department, and we are advised to continue to monitor student health carefully. We are in close contact with the Health Department to ensure as best possible the wellness of our students and staff. We do, however, want to make our parents aware of this situation in order for them to make the best decisions for their families. School and related activities will continue until further notice. Please monitor our website and news for updates regarding this situation.

Sunday morning at 8:30 is the Kids Marathon. If your child is planning on running here is some helpful information to help find the rest of the RU runners. The organizers of the run have set up the run in “waves” to run the race, each school is lined up alphabetically. We don’t know if we are listed as Rose Union or Deer Creek so look in both places, we are either wave 2 or wave 7. The race is on Robinson in between 6th and 5th street. We would like to all be grouped together by 8:00am. Ms. Nikkel will be there wearing her bright blue running shirt holding up a Rose Union/Deer Creek sign. Please wear your Rose Union running shirt or a Deer Creek shirt. Ms. Nikkel will also have her cell phone on so feel free to call if you need her. (834-3649) Feel free to run with us or meet us at the finish line!

Don't forget to order your wristbands and tickets for the school carnival! Wristbands are $15 pre-sale, notes went out earlier this week! You can turn those in Monday or Tuesday of next week if you haven't already ordered!

GROVE VALLEY UPDATE:
May Newsletter
Dear Grove Valley Parents and Students,
As I write this article the building is on schedule to be completed in May. It is a beautiful building. I look forward to showing it to you in the month of May. In order to facilitate our student tours, we will need to have a temporary building occupancy. We have cleared dates with the superintendent, Director of Operations, Architects, and Construction Company. Below is the schedule for student tours.
May 14
Current kindergarten students who will be in first grade in the fall. Students will visit GV at 9:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m.
Current second grade students who will be in third grade in the fall. Students will visit GV at 10:30 a.m.
Current third grade students who will be in the fourth grade in the fall. Students will visit GV at 2:40 p.m.
May 18
Current first grade students who will be in the second grade in the fall. Students will visit GV at 9:30 a.m.
Current fourth grade students who will be in the fifth grade will have a special experience as the future leaders of our new school. They will be bringing their lunch for a special outing and tour. More information will be coming to you in the near future.
All parents and other new students, including upcoming kindergarten, will be given a tour from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. We will not have a permanent occupancy certificate so the tours will need to be the time the construction company has the building open.
Permission slips will be sent home in early May. There will be four staff members to supervise children during these tours.
Family Fun Night is just around the corner. Please plan to attend on Friday, May 15 from 6:00-8:00 pm. You will be able to meet the teachers. Food, and fun games are planned for the evening. In case of rain, or lack of temporary occupancy certificate, the site would be at the High School Alumni Hall. Tours of the building can't be done at the event due to the final inspection and permanent occupancy permits. The parent tour is listed above on May 18.Come support your new school and meet the teachers. They will be wearing their new Deer Creek T-shirts. A special thank you to the PTO in planning this fun evening.
Don't forget to visit our website and complete our parent survey. I will be meeting with the PTO very soon in planning for the following school year. Your input will help us in this planning session.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call me at 348-6100, ext. 179. I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Debbie Straughn

Mrs. Tarron, our media specialist, is needing some volunteers to help laminate the cards in our new FROG kits. These kits were purchased through a Deer Creek Foundation grant and serve as great skill reinforcement for our students. The cards need to be laminated and cut out so that they will last for years to come. If you can help out with this, please stop by our media center or contact Mrs. Tarron @ tarronc@deercreek.k12.ok.us.
Have a great day!

Just a few reminders from Rose Union Elementary-
Today is our first stay of standardized testing. This is a great opportunity for our students to "show what they know!" They've worked so hard this year and will do GREAT on the CRT tests.
This year or 4th and 5th graders will be taking CRTs on the 14th and 15th. Our 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the CRTs on April 21st and 22nd. Students will not be participating in the ITBS test this year, instead we will be using the COGAT which will be administered early in May.
Our school carnival is coming up quickly! Tickets and wristbands will be on sale soon! Watch for notes to come home in your child's backpack.
We have had a great response in prize donations! Thanks to all of you who have donated small toys and candy...keep the prizes coming!
We would also like to ask for donations of canned soda (coke, diet coke, and sprite) and water bottles. The more donations we receive, the better the profit for our school! If you would like to help out by donating cans of soda or bottles of water, we would GREATLY appreciate it!
The carnival will be April 30th from 5:30-8:00. We hope to see EVERYONE there!
Our VOLUNTEER BREAKFAST is also coming up soon! We would like to celebrate all of our volunteers on Tuesday, April 28th at 8:15 in the media center. If you have volunteered at Rose Union this year in any way, you are invited to attend. Our volunteers are a tremendous asset to our school and this is just a small token of our appreciation and gratitude for all you do!! Please come and let us say THANK YOU!!!
Have a blessed week!

Deer Creek Schools Foundation
Golf Marathon
Announcement Issue – April, 2009
What is the Classic 100 Golf Marathon?
It is an incredibly fun event, which will raise some serious bucks for the Deer Creek Schools Foundation. It is a way for golfers, both duffer and low handicapper alike, to rally support while doing something they will really enjoy - playing golf. When compared to a traditional golf tournament, golf marathons are more fun and substantially more profitable.
Each golfer who participates in the Golf Marathon will be required to do three things.
• Give A Day & Play golf at the golf course. Shotgun start right after breakfast.
• Sponsor yourself for at least $100. Your tax-deductible donation is payable in advance.
• Solicit sponsorships from family, friends, business associates etc... with a goal of raising an additional $24 per hole...that amounts to $2,500 each golfer can raise. So, you can see with a field of 40 golfers, each raising $2,500, we could reach our goal of $100,000. WOW! Just imagine how we can help the schools!
OK, "Gimme" the Details
The Deer Creek Schools Foundation Golf Marathon will be played on Friday May 15, 2009 at the Rose Creek Golf Club. The Marathon will give you a very rare opportunity to play on an exceptional golf course, almost by yourself, and complete the equivalent of a month's worth of golf in one day! Our day's agenda will be something like this...
• Breakfast at sunrise.
• Shot gun start.
• Flail away for at least 100 holes.
• Marathon stops when it either gets too dark to see, or the golf course staff runs us off.
• Smile a lot - you've done a great thing today!
How Do I Sign Up?
This is the easy part. Give us a call and we will provide any information you need. Or simply send an email to Richard DiAngelo and he will do everything needed to complete your registration. So, please join us!

Parents,
Thank you all for your patience and support during Tuesday's weather event. Please know that at the first sign of bad weather we begin taking action to keep children safe! We have put some procedures in place this year to make our severe weather plan more effective and efficient. Our goal is to move children as calmly and quickly to the safe room as possible and then to keep them calm and safe until the storm blows over.
On Friday, 2/13/09, the TAK emergency team will be visiting all DC schools to look at our current safety procedures, drills, routines, and building/grounds. They will analyze the things we are doing now and make suggestions on measures that we can take to make RU an even safer environment for children. I'm not sure what time they will be visiting, but please be aware that they will arrive in their emergency response vehicles. Please do not be concerned if you see emergency response vehicles parked in front of the school on Friday.
When you get a chance, thank your child's teacher for the amazing job they did on Tuesday of keeping children calm and safe!
Have a great day!
Stacy Edwards

Good afternoon! I hope you enjoyed some extra family time over the past couple of days! It just wouldn't be a true Oklahoma winter with out a good ole' ice storm!
Thanks for your patience on Monday with our transportation and dismissal. Children's safety is always our TOP concern!
Many of you asked why we didn't release early on Monday. One of the main reasons that most school districts do not release early any more is because of the safety concerns regarding busing children home to empty houses in the middle of the day. Some parents have jobs that require them to work regardless of weather conditions. ANY time that you feel that your child's safety is at risk and you prefer to pick up early from school due to inclement weather, we support your decision 100%.
We WILL have school on February 19th and April 10th. The third day will be made up at the end of the school year.
Have a great day!
Stacy Edwards

School has been cancelled for tomorrow (Tuesday, January 27, 2009) due to inclement weather. Please watch the local news/DC District website for future information.

I hope you all have enjoyed a long weekend with your children! This week at Rose Union we will have the Geography Bee on Tuesday at 10:10 in the gym.
We are still looking for volunteers to help get our library set up for A.R. You don't have to make a long-term volunteering commitment! If you have an extra hour, stop by the R.U. library and Mrs. Tarron will put you to work labeling books! She has everything set up in a basket to take the guess work out of the job for our volunteers. WE APPRECIATE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Mark your calendars now! February 3rd at 4:00 is our next PTO meeting! We want you to get involved!!! Our school board candidates will be at this meeting to discuss the upcoming election. We also want you to support your child's classroom teacher. Sign in when you attend the PTO meetings and the class with the most parents represente will win the "Penny Pot!" We encourage you to attend our PTO meetings and get more involved in our great school!
Have a wonderful week!
"Chess Club is meeting this Wednesday, January 14th. The children are ready to start learning more strategy about the game, and that is going to require regular volunteers to help. If you are able to volunteer on a regular or semi-regular basis, please e-mail me at
means1@sbcglobal.net. You do not need to know how to play chess to
volunteer! We just need parental supervision.
I will be out of town on the 21st so we will not meet then. We will start back with our weekly meetings on January 28th. E-mail me with any questions or concerns! And thank you for considering volunteering for the club!

Deer Creek families:
It is once again that time of year for our celebrated community event and district-wide fundraiser, the Creek Classic. The Creek Classic is a 10K, 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run held at the Deer Creek Middle School. It is a USATF sanctioned race and one that is highly respected by running clubs throughout Oklahoma. Runners from across the state, along with Deer Creek families and friends, anticipate this annual event. The 13th Annual Creek Classic will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 and begins at 9:00 a.m.
The funds raised from this event are divided per capita among our six schools, including our new elementary school, Grove Valley. Last year’s race raised over $40,000 for our schools. Every penny goes into our classrooms and has purchased technology equipment, additions to curriculum, stage and sound equipment, playground enhancements and many other needed and useful materials and equipment for our schools.
Please put this date on your calendar, Saturday, March 7th, 2009! Here are just a few of the ways you can participate and support our school in a big way:
(1) Be a Creek Classic sponsor. See our website, www.deercreekclassic.com for more information and the benefits of being a sponsor.
(2) Sign your family up for the race or the fun walk.
(3) Volunteer to be a part of the planning team. It takes a large number of people to make this the successful event it has been for the past 12 years.
(4) Host a booth at the Creek Classic Market.
This will be the 2nd year for the Creek Classic Market. It is held in the Middle School gym during packet pick up on Friday, March 6th from 3:00 to 7:00 and on Saturday morning before and during the race. The Market is an awesome opportunity for your business to promote or sell a product. Space may also be purchased to sell items such as food, jewelry, school apparel, etc. Clear Channel Communications, our media sponsor, will be on hand to hold drawings and make it a high energy community event.
Each person entering the Creek Classic will receive a t-shirt, a free breakfast provided by the Track Team Boosters, and a goody bag. You can find all of the entry form information on our website. We will also be sending home a registration form with each student in the near future.
Again, the website for the Creek Classic is www.deercreekclassic.com and contains any information you may need to be a sponsor or sign up for the race. For questions or more information, you may contact the Executive PTO President and Race Director, Karla O’Hara at 285-1826 or karlaohara@cox.net.
Please plan now to join the Deer Creek community, teachers and students to make this exciting annual event a huge success. Say yes to our kids and help us put more money into our classrooms and into the future of your child’s education!

School is in full swing this morning at Rose Union Elementary! I enjoyed our winter break, but was excited to get back to the business of learning!
We have so many exciting things taking place for this second semester of school. One of which is the introduction of the Accelerated Reader program to our students. This is a program that is designed to boost reading fluency, improve reading comprehension, and encourage students to become life-long readers.
This semester will be an "implementation" period where students will have the opportunity to really get into A.R. and understand what it's all about. Look for a flyer to come home later this week with more information about A.R. at R.U!
Are you looking for ways to volunteer and get more involved at our great school? I have two wonderful opportunities for you!
We need A.R. volunteers! We would like to have several parents/grandparents volunteer to work in our library to help mark books with A.R. labels. The classroom teachers (younger grades) will also need some help in the computer lab with helping children get logged into the A.R. program and take the tests.
If you are interested in helping out in the media center, please contact Cindy Tarron at tarronc@deercreek.k12.ok.us. If you are interested in helping out in the classrooms, please contact your child's teacher.
We will also begin having Popcorn Fridays very soon! We need volunteers to come up and help out with popping and distributing popcorn to our students. If you're interested in helping, please email me at edwardss@deercreek.k12.ok.us and I will help get you plugged in!
Here are some things you can look forward to in January:
Jan. 12- 5th Grade Spelling Bee at 10:15
Jan. 13- Report Cards go home
Jan. 15- 1st grade Informance- 6:30
Jan. 16- Pee Wee Spelling Bee for grades 2-4
Jan. 19- NO SCHOOL
Jan. 20- Geo Bowl
I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and extra time with family!
Have a wonderful week!

Dear Rose Union Parents,
Here we are at the end of the first semester of school! Wow, how time flies! I want to take this opportunity to say "thank you" for all of your support during my first semester as principal at our great school! I am truly enjoying the daily challenges and rewards that go along with being an elementary principal! Every day is a new day when you're working with 600 children...there's never a dull moment, that's for sure! I feel blessed to hold this position and to be part of such an incredible community.
On a different note...you may have noticed the fire trucks in front of the school this afternoon or heard stories about the incredibly loud alarms! Not to worry, there was no fire or even smoke. It turns out that our return vents are dusty and it triggered the alarms. Our maintenance department and the security company are getting things taken care of so that we can have a much more peaceful day tomorrow!
Don't forget, tomorrow is Pajama Day!
Sing along will be at 2:15 and parties will begin at 2:45.
I hope you all have a wonderful winter break!
Happy Holidays!

We would like to thank our Deer Creek Foundation for awarding our school with the following grants:
Accelerated Reader Blast Off ($ 2,990.00)
Kindergarten Science Enrichment ($ 1,131.00)
3rd Grade: Leaping into Literacy ($ 1,513.00)
Frog Kits Reading & Math Systems ($ 782.00)
Math Mountain ($ 835.00)
Math Wrap-Ups ($ 3,250.00)
Our teachers did an amazing job of putting together grant applications for materials that will directly impact the learning of students! We GREATLY appreciate the foundation and the Deer Creek patrons who have contributed so generously to the eduction of our children! THANK YOU FOR YOU SUPPORT!!!
We will begin using the Accelerated Reader program at Rose Union in January. I realize that there are mixed feelings out there regarding this program, but rest assured we have been planning for months for the implementation of Accelerated Reader at Rose Union. Before beginning the program, we wanted to take the time to work collaboratively to address some of those concerns. We want A.R. to be used to MOTIVATE and ENCOURAGE students to gain a life-long love for reading. We have some great ideas in place for establishing student-driven goals and providing alternatives to typical A.R. tests. I will be sending out detailed information regarding Accelerated Reader and how it may look a little different at our school.
Stay warm and have a wonderful day!

Happy Monday! It's the start of another great week at Rose Union Elementary! Our book fair was quite a success. Thank you all for your support of our media center and the importance of reading great books!
I would like to take this opportunity to stress the importance of school attendance and punctuality. School is in session from 8:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time each morning. If they arrive after 8:45, they are tardy. All students should arrive at school between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. We will begin classes promptly at 8:45.
Please do not check your child out early unless you have a doctor's appointment or other important business. Children should not be missing school on a regular basis for extra-curricular activities.
We still have children arriving at school before 8:30 in the morning. I will begin passing notes out to children at the door who are arriving early. They may not be in the building prior to 8:30 a.m. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
Have a great week!

If you can help either day, please call Mrs. Tarron on Monday at 359-3188-326. Thanks for your support!

Good Monday morning! We have some exciting events taking place at Rose Union Elementary this week and I wanted to make sure that no one misses out!
This is Red Ribbon Week. This is the week that we focus on drug and alcohol abuse awareness. Many of the students came dressed and ready today with their crazy hair and hats! Here is the schedule for the remainder of the week:
Tuesday- Stay in the game: Wear your favorite team jersey or t-shirt.
Wednesday- Follow your dreams: Wear your flannel pajamas.
Thursday- Don't be tricked: Wear a school appropriate costume
We will have parent/teacher conferences this week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4-7:00. There will be no school on Friday.
The costume parade will begin in the gym on Thursday at 2:00. This will give our volunteers time to set up for the Fall parties in the classroom, which will begin as soon as the parade is over.
I also want to take this oppurtunity to remind parents of a couple of school policies regarding weapons and threatening behavior. Please visit with your children and remind them that it is never appropriate to bring a weapon or toy weapon to school. A toy gun or knife can be perceived as a threat and will be taken very seriously. Children should also be reminded that verble threats will also be taken seriously. Students should never say things like "I'm going to kill you" when they are angry. Please visit with your children about these school policies.
Looking ahead to November....
The Rose Union Spirit Celebration at the High School football game will be on November 7th. There will be inflatables and activities prior to the game and all RU students will receive a "Golden Ticket". Children are encouraged to wear their DC gear to school on that day to support the Antlers!
We will have a Veteran's Day Assembly in the gym on November 11th at 8:45. We would like to invite all of the Veterans from our community as well as family members that are Veterans to the assembly. A flyer will be sent out soon.
Have a TERRIFIC WEEK!

Please remember to check your child's hair frequently at home.
Head Lice Procedure for Deer Creek Public Schools
When a student is found to have head lice at school, the following procedure is followed:
• Parent notified of situation, student excluded and advised of necessary treatment.
• Student must be brought to school by parent the next day and rechecked by school personnel before student may reenter school.
• Siblings of student found to have head lice also will be checked.
• School notifies parent to retreat after 7-10 days and student will be rechecked before returning to school.
• Screenings will be done in private using gloves and Qtips in private.
• Mass screenings of classrooms will not be done unless class has 3 or more students in that classroom with head lice.
• Mass screenings will also be done in private.
• Parents will receive an email or letter if school has found to have an outbreak of 3 or more students in a class.
• Teachers will be encouraged to prevent the spread of head lice by having students place clothing, hats and coats in their backpacks.
• The goal is to protect the confidentiality of the student and family involved.

Calling all Deer Creek Families!!
With a
A chance to make a Difference!!!
Rose Union Elementary School Parents,
I want to make you aware of one of the true bright spots of our school district, - The Deer Creek Schools Foundation. The Deer Creek Schools Foundation mission is to raise money to promote, support and fund initiatives that increase the academic and artistic achievement of all students and teachers in the Deer Creek Public School District. The outstanding level of achievement is accomplished through the efforts of many dedicated parents who make up the Foundation’s board of directors. Over the past 10 years, the foundation has provided over $700,000 in grants and scholarships to help raise the level of achievement in the Deer Creek School District.
A few examples of the positive impact The Foundation has made:
• Provided Smart Boards, Projectors and screens for Deer Creek Classrooms – providing teachers the tools and technology to be more effective in the class room.
• Funded “Hurricane Strength and Maximum Reconstruction” – to improve the reading of Special Ed. and 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students.
• Funded “We’re Acceleratin Math” – to provide increased math skills to grades 3-5.
Each one of these initiatives would not have occurred if it were not for the funding provided by the Foundation.
2008 Technology Grant Challenge:
This year the Foundation is taking on an ambitious challenge to raise $250,000 specifically to fund the use of Smart Boards and mobile computer labs in the classrooms. It is critical that we provide our teachers and students access to the latest technology to stay ahead in this fast changing and competitive world. Please help the Foundation meet this challenge.
SO HOW CAN YOU HELP!!!!
There are three major ways you can help the foundation to achieve its mission!
1. Get Involved
• The foundation is always looking for good, dedicated people who have the time and want to help. The Foundation provides a great avenue for you to contribute your time and talent to make a lasting impact on the District. There are numerous committees for you to serve on.
2. Donate Money
• The Foundation seeks to raise $100 per child, and based on the number of children you have in the district you can determine what is appropriate for your situation. But while the dollar amount of the contribution is important, it is also of equal importance to the foundation that it have the participation of as many families in the District as possible. If at the end of the year, the foundation were to be able to say that it received a contribution from each and every family in the district that alone would make for a “wildly successful” year. $5.00, $10.00 $50.00 are all appropriate levels of contribution. Please know that every donation of any amount is appreciated for the sacrifice it represents. So please, make it a point to give something.
3. Look for ways to Get your Contribution Matched
• Many employers will match the charitable contributions made by their employees. Check with your company and ask that they match your contribution.
4. Ask if Your Company Participates in Charitable Giving
• Most large companies and even some smaller ones participate in charitable giving. Find out if your employer has a charitable giving program and let someone at the Foundation know who they should contact.
If you have questions or wish to learn more about the Foundation and its efforts, please contact Carter Ransom @ 397-0159 or visit our web site www.dccef.org
Once again, the success of the Deer Creek Schools Foundation to meet its objectives in support our District is very important, and I hope you can find a way to participate.

If you are planning on checking students out to attend the Homecoming parade on Friday, please contact the office by Thursday afternoon to let us know. This will help us to track who is planning on going and will really cut down on the activity in the office at parade time. We will need written documentation with the following information: student/parent name, check out time, the person picking the student up at check out time, along with a written statement giving another person permission to check your son our daughter out of school. We appreciate your cooperation with this process. If you have questions regarding check out information please contact the school office at 359-3188.
Chess Club will begin Wednesday, October 8th. It will be held in the RU media center from 4:00-5:00 every Wednesday and is available to all of our students. If you haven't enrolled your child in Chess Club and need a form, please stop by the school office. A special thanks to MJ Means and all of our RU parent volunteers who are bringing Chess Club to our great school!
Enjoy a great week!

Dear Rose Union Parents of 1-5 Grade Students: Your child should have brought home a very important flyer in their Thursday Folder yesterday from me detailing how to log-on and use our Destiny Library Catalog through the internet on your home computers. All of the classes have been attending lessons on using our “look-up” computer program for the last few weeks and are very excited to have the opportunity to use the program at home. Please try and spend a few minutes this weekend logging onto the web-site and putting this important tool on your “favorites” so our boys and girls can continue to access our library collection at home. Thanks so much for your time and cooperation. If you have any questions at all about using the catalog, please give me a call at 359-3188-326. Cindy Tarron, Media Specialist, Rose Union Elementary
