Good Afternoon! I hope that you have been able to keep both feet on the ground this weekend! That is some wind out there! This week shouldn’t be as busy as last but here is what I plan on getting accomplished:
a spelling contract
finish literacy centers
continue with our Rome unit
discuss irregular plural nouns in language
listen to the story “What’s In Store For the Future?”
learn the vccv pattern in phonics and how to split words according to syllables
keep working on unit 3 in math
have our picture taken on Wednesday
review and practice the paint program and Type to Learn in the computer lab
and may other activities that we will share with you as they happen.
LITERACY CENTERS
This week your child should complete all 7 centers. I will remind them after each center time to take home any unfinished work. Please ask your child about his/her progress and I will too.
SPELLING CONTRACT
This will be our last spelling contract before the 9 weeks is over. Let’s go out with a bang! The 2nd nine weeks spelling contract will ask for definitions instead of sentences. A parent is going to provide each 3rd grader with a dictionary. Until then, your child is more then welcome to borrow one of ours if you would like them to bring a dictionary home.
