HOW CAN PARENTS HELP THEIR CHILD ACHIEVE ACADEMIC SUCCESS?
1. Insist your child bring home books and binders/folders to review 10 or 15 minutes every night.
2. Have your child teach you what they learned that day.
3. Evaluate where your child studies. Is it quiet, or is the TV an obvious distraction?
4. Help your child keep their binder/folder organized, this is essential for preparation of nine-week and semester tests.
5. Establish ground rules: Can the stereo or TV be on? How loud? Use of phone?
6. Listen and ask questions. Don't nag. Assist, but don't do your child's work.
7. Reward progresses and studies done well. Success is its own reward, but when your child fulfills his/her studying responisbilities, he has earned a special privilege-as well as your praise.
8. Call or e-mail us. The school number is 324-2236. You may e-mail from this web site.
9. It would be a good idea to replenish school supplies at the beginning of the 2nd semester.
10. Specific dates are noted on the school calendar for mid-term reports and report cards.
PARENTS: Please come to the school and sign up for Parent Connect.
Please keep the dictionary that is on the supply list at home. You will need one at home for various assignments this year. We have plenty of dictionairies at school.
