Benchmark Std.:  1.2 Use substitution and order of operations to simplify and evaluate expressions; 2.3 Use decimals to assess reasonable solutions.

Mon. 1/5/09
Add and subtract decimals to check account balances.  Syudents will finish working their study guides for benchmark exam and discuss.
H.W. pgs. 139-140 #13-20, 24-26, 28, 28, 31-34

Tues. 1/6/09
Review benchmark study guides and discuss.  If time allows, take review Quiz 3.4-3.6  This is open book, so it can be taken at home and returned the following day. (pg. 143 #1-18) Pick up benchmark test from room near library or ask counselor Ms. Salim to get them for you.

Wed./Thurs. 1/7 & 8/09
Students need #2 leaded pencils sharpened and scratch paper.  Pass out benchmark test after roll check and announcements.  Discard answer sheets of any students who are missing.  If students finish, they will need to begin the chapter review exam on pg. 144-145 (all problems)  due 1/12/09

Fri. 1/9/09
Multiply decimals and whole numbers to find the lengths of races,or find the cost of food.

Wed. 1/7/09  No class/double block day

Thurs. 1/8/09
Sharpen pencils, get scratch paper and take benchmark test as soon as announcements are complete.  At the end of class, turn in all benchmark test and answer sheets.  Students who are absent, please discard their sheet.
Convert between metric units to find mass.  Students will need to read lesson and do practice problems in class.  Home work pg. 88-89 #20-25, 39-44, 51-54
