Please make sure your child is reading at least 20 minutes a day. This will help prepare them for their future! Reading Counts due dates is Jan. 30th 300pages at least. Feb 26th- 325pgs, March 28th- 350pgs, April 25-375pgs, and May 20th- 375 to 400pgs.
This semester we are reading the novel Watsons Go to Birmingham 1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis. Each week we are reading about three chapters and doing reading comprehension over the text. All the Vocabulary for our novel is located in the flashcards section.
Also, we are preparing for the state testing in April by going over testing techinques,skills, and review information that they will be tested on. Your child should know the literary terms, reading comprehension skills, research information & techniques, writing procedures, grammar and mechanics.
