Week 2 = Lesson: Basic Drawing
Drawing still life objects/overhead apples
VOCABULARY

VALUE:Relative lightness or darkness of a color.
         (light and shade)

TONE :The effect produced by the combination of light, shade and color. Creating a mood to the art piece.

TINT: A delicate color or hue. a color; especially, a gradation of a color with reference to its mixture with white.

SHADOW: The shaded area of a picture. To shade in a painting or drawing. A definite area of shade cast upon a surface by a body intercepting the light rays.

SHADE: Comparative darkness caused by a more or less opaque object cutting off rays of light, as from the sun. An area less brightly lighted than its surroundings. An indication or representation of darkness in a painting, drawing. Degree of darkness of a color; gradation of a color with reference to its mixture with black: as various shades of blue.

STYLE: The way in which anything is made or done; creative. Distinction, excellence , originality  and character in any form of artistic or literary expression.

Week 1= LESSON:   MIRROR IMAGE REVERSE COLLAGE
ARTIST IN FOCUS:   HENRI MATISSE, French Impressionist
MATERIALS:  COLOR CONSTRUCTION PAPER, SISSORS AND GLUE.

LECTURE/INFORMATION: THIS IS A FUN ASSIGNMENT THAT CAN BE VERY CREATIVE. THE 2 COLOR GLUED PAPER IS THE BACKGROUND AND THE 2 COLORS BECOME ACCENT COLORS TO THE REVERSE BACKGROUND PAPER. CUT THE ACCENT COLOR PAPER TOGETHER AND YOU WILL FIND A  NICE MIRROR IMAGE REVERSE COLOR IMAGE. ARRANGE THE CUT PIECES UNTIL YOU FIND THE ARRANGEMENT YOU LIKE AND THEN GLUE THEM TO THE PAPER IN A REVERSE PATTERN. (MIRRIOR IMAGE) TRY TO MAKE THE SHAPES INTERESTING BY USING ANGLES OR CURVES OR A COMBINATION.

ALL STUDENT WORK IS GRADED AND DISPLAYED IN THE CLASSROOM AND OTHER AREAS OF THE SCHOOL OR DISTRICT.
