SPANISH CLASSES
Objective: Students will be able to develop linguistic skills in Spanish: listening, reading, speaking and writing. Grammar will be studied in depth. Students will be reading some passages of Hispanic Literature, and sharing the culture through different activities such as arts & crafts and community projects.
Evaluation:
Quizzes 100
Tests 100
Classroom Activities 100
Projects 100
Behavior/participation (Bep) 100
Your grade for the quarter will be average of all five categories.
A 90-100
B 80-89
C 70-79
D 60-69
F 0-59
Homework:
You are responsible to review every day, what was worked on in class.
Supplies for Success:
Students must bring a folder or notebook and a pencil to class every time we meet.
Discipline Procedures:
Discipline will be based on the Community Guidelines and Life Skills agreements. At the beginning of the quarter, each student will be given a hundred points (100) for his/her behavior/participation (Bep) grade. The student will make the choice of keeping the 100 points by following all rules and procedures or by giving away points every time he/she decides to break one of them.
The first time, I will give a verbal warning. Second time, student will give away 10 points of his/her Bep. Third time, students will give away 10 more points, a summons will be issued and a conference between the parent, the student, and the teacher will be held. Fifth time, the student will give away 30 more points and a referral will be issued.
During the first week of school we have discussed procedures, Community Guidelines
and Life Skills in the classroom. Also, we have talked about the consequences for not letting other students learn in a safe and respectful environment.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 833-9741. My planning time is 2:40-3:30.
I have great expectations for this year, and I am sure that with your support and the student’s desire to learn Spanish, we will have a successful year.
Please note: your child will receive 10 extra points for reviewing the syllabus with you
and returning it with your signature.
¡Muchas gracias!
Thank-you!
