I hope everyone is gearing up for a great Thanksgiving week! I know I'm looking forward to spending time with my family and my boys...the Cowboys, that is!
A few upcoming reminders...
We DO have school on Monday and Tuesday next week, but Tuesday is an early release day of 1:30.
Monday's lunch will be later than usual due to Grandparent's Day, so I will be scheduling 2 snacks in our morning. Feel free to send 2 snacks or a giant snack to be split into 2 "sessions" this Monday. The only lunch choice for Monday is the school's Thanksgiving lunch...turkey, dressing, etc.
Tuesday is sack lunch day due to early dismissal. Students may either bring their lunch as usual or purchase a spikeable sack lunch from the cafeteria.
Report cards went home today (Friday), so please make sure that you sign and return the envelope after keeping the report card. I am very proud of how my class did this 6 weeks!
The 3rd grade teachers are preparing for our annual Holidays Around the World social studies unit for December. We are asking, if possible, that you send $3.00 to school with your student to help cover expenses for the items we will be purchasing for this unit. Thank you so much for your support!
We will be taking our TIMED multiplication tests over our 0's, 1's, 2's, 3's, 5's, 10's, and 11's on Monday morning. Please practice these over the weekend. They will have 2 minutes to complete each set of facts. We will test over 4's and 9's before the Christmas break and hold off on the remaining facts until January. We set a goal of knowing all of them by mid-January which is when we begin division.
Due to the holidays, we will NOT have a Book Adventure quiz this 6 weeks. I know we just had our book fair, but I will be sending home Scholastic book order forms next week before we leave for Thanksgiving. There are some GREAT deals for gift giving! Remember that you can order online which is much easier (and preferred) to sending me money. If you want it to be a secret, email me and let me know!
Have a wonderful and blessed week with your families, be safe in your travels, and know that I am thankful for having your wonderful kids in my class this year!
