Monday's after school activities are choir and Lego Robotics.
This Saturday is U.I.L. competition at Shadowridge Middle School. Refer to your individual coaches as to the time of arrival.
Wellington is also having a fundraiser at the Highland Village Barnes and Noble Book Store. Staff members will be reading aloud from some of their favorite holiday books. A portion of all purchases goes to support Wellington Elementary.
Math Notes:
Monday: TEKS Check for the 2nd six weeks. This is an assessment that the district uses to evaluate how well the students understood the math concepts that were taught during the second six weeks. It is a multiple choice assessment in a TAKS style format.
Tuesday: The students will take a written Fraction Test Review on the concepts that we covered since the last Fraction Test. The concepts that will be on the test are finding the greatest common factor (GCF), simplifying fractions, finding equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators, and relating fractions to decimals with denominatiors of 10, 100, or 1,000.
Wednesday: LEAP students will be out, so I will be giving the students a problem solving worksheet involving fractions. They will be allowed to work with a partner, and will be given time to study for the Fraction Test.
Thursday: Fraction Test Part Two
Friday: Math 4 Today quiz will be given along with Problem Solving strategies involving multistep word problems.
Tutoring: Tutoring will continue on Thursdays from 3-3:45 p.m. Please pick up your children by 3:45 p.m. and thanks for all your support at home!
